Overall team combined, not Defense or offense.

2009 more complete team. Doubt the Jets would have beat them.

If we had the offensive line we had in 2009, we'd be undefeated. I truly believe that.

Yeah, but this line is starting to cone togehter. ? He defense is better. When it's all said and done, this could be our best squad.

The 2009 team was not BEHIND in a ball game until week 6, and didn't lose until week 14. They only won one game they should have lost (Redskins).

The 2013 team is a couple of bad breaks from being 6-4.

2013 offense < 2009 offense
2013 defense > 2009 defense

I still feel like the 2011 team was our best ever. Just took a tough loss in the playoffs. It takes some breaks to win it all. In 2009 we got some against the Vikings, in 2011 we didn't against the 49ers.

In 09 in the first 13 games of the season, it seemed as though nothing could go wrong. EVERY Brees pass was pinpoint accurate and turnovers were caused left and right by Sharper and crew. The ball bounced that defenses way every game.

09 by far.

If those squads played each other right now, I think 2013 would win. I think our current defense stops Drew one more time than the 2009 defense does.

2013 Saints 38
2009 Saints 35

2011 Saints would probably beat both.

This.

I'm never gonna recover from the 2011 loss. That team was just too good. and even though I keep getting hate for saying this, I'm positive that in the future people will look back and call these years the greatest ever by an offense, and 2011 will be the best of those.

I almost agree. I would rank them

1. 2011
2. 2009 (Just because of how well our Oline was that year)
3. 2013

Not EVERY pass.

But when they weren't, Meachem stole the ball anyway and scored a touchdown.

Our o-line was dominant that year. I think this years line is starting to come around.

I also think this thread would be better served at the end of this season. Still fun to think about though.

Think about this, as crazy as the numbers are Denver is putting up this year. The 2011 Saints put up more and I expect the Denver number to drop.

455.5 yards a game for Denver so far.
467.1 for the 2011 Saints.

I'm still not sold on this year's Saints.

They have only played 1 good half on the road, and 4 away games in the next 6.

Add on to that the playoffs will likely include a January trip to Seattle and a Super Bowl in New York.

I think they finish 12-4, maybe 11-5 if for some reason the TB game doesn't affect our seeding.
