Said that he very well may have been able to catch that ball.

Interesting story.

Uhh no they didn't

They said it was possible to get right to that position but that he still would have had the defender right there...who picked it off

It would've been picked either way

Maybe.... you dont know for sure though. Gronk could of just tipped it or whatever.

All that matters is that Gronk could of made a play on the ball. Not saying he would of caught it or anything. But it was possible for him to make a play on the ball. Not probable that he would of caught it, but that doesnt matter. What does matter is that the flag should not of been waived off.

All that matters is that if a defender impedes an offensive WR the opportunity to make a play on the football, its a flag. If he would of caught it or not doesnt matter. Should of been a flag and Pats should of gotten the ball on the 1.

Which means the ball was catchable and the penalty shouldve been called.

Because momentum =force x velocity, had he not had the extra mass on him, he would have had enough time to make the catch. But seeing as he didn't, it would have required twice as much force to get in that position.

They also mentioned something about how he could have decelerated from 16 mph running to change his direction to make the catch with out the player draped on him.

F with ya boy. Yankee Physics.

I'm an avid Saints fan.

No chance in hell Gronk could have made a play on that ball. It was embarrassingly poorly thrown and the safety made an elementary play on it.

Well, being a Saints fan would mean he'd be pulling for Carolina to lose so we'd have an extra game lead on them.

I think the penalty should have been called however.

Does he catch it? Doubtful.

Point is that the defender took the opportunity away from Gronk to make a play on the ball. And it was indeed a catchable ball. Therefore its a flag.

Tell the guys at ESPN that Carolina is 7-3 no matter how many tears they cry into their Tom Towels.
