Glad to hear LSU trying to restore some class...with tradition of tunes everyone loves...WITHOUT trashy lyrics.

I love a crude joke and I'm guilty of chanting vulgarities in the past but I will not chant STTDB this Saturday. Why? This is the largest and most important visit for much needed recruits and I don't want to risk losing any because we offended one of their mothers or grandmothers. The students need to understand that something like STTDB sends a very negative message to a potential recruits family. So students, if you want to do your part in aiding " the decline" as its been called, scream STTDB at the top of your lungs. If you want to make this game the best most impressionable experience in a recruits life, keep it clean. Do it for them and their families.

UM had the same issues to the point where they had to ask the student body to curtail classless chants.

I think it's embarrassing that the admin and players had to make a psa because it actually reached this point.

We (the student section) was chanting a-hole, a-hole! at competing coaches and refs who made a bad call way back in the 80's. Cursing by the students is nothing new and trying to stop them is not a novel concept.

The only difference is that today it is on national TV. I personally like intimidating the other side as much as possible...personally I would not repeat STTD and a few others, but cursing should not only be allowed, but mandatory.

Do you really think that the opposing team quivers in fear because the student section chants "a-hole"????




Tiger Stadium was known for it's fans' knowledge (key downs, like defensive third downs) and above all, noise; not obscenity.

It's sad how yelling during third and short and keeping concentration/audibles difficult for the offense is confused with STTDB as making it harder for the other team. I don't think the visiting team's captain says, we better play our worst out there...they are yelling STTDB mang! I's scurrred of their vulgarity


I'm not coming after you, but this is probably the diagnosis of why the student section today accidentally ruins key chants....they think obscenity is.............. INTIMIDATING.

this is embarrassing the the administration has had to take these measures.

I agree that we should keep it classy but I'm gonna play devils advocate or a second; its hard to tell students not to make vulgar chants when the team would start every game with "came to the club with a 9 on me" and "we gonna tear this mother fricker down".... Just saying.
