Roundup on dormant bermuda--Paging Bootlegger

Have a few acres I'm trying to kill some dallis grass. Bermuda has just gone dormant after few nights last week in the 20s. The dallis grass is still green.
Someone said I could spray Roundup now and then again in the Spring after the dallis grass (what lives) greens up but while the bermuda is still brown. This sound ok or will it kill the bermuda

We do round up and 24D on the bermuda in our soccer fields in February every year. I'd be scared it's a little early for it, but then again we're much further south than central Ar-Kansas.

It is always going to be a gamble.
When I worked in the golf course industry, we just over-seeded the bermuda with rye, did not have the stones to spray the bermuda out. On the other hand, another local course superintendent sprays out his bermuda EVERY year with zero problems.
To answer your question, yes it can be done. Just watch the timing.

There are specific herbicides that will target Dallis Grass. I can't think of them right off the top of my head. Call you local extension agent.

I believe it used to be MSA or something like that but that has been outlawed for a few years. Hopefully there's something else.
Not looking for a golf course yard, got way too much yard to do that but those damn clumps about knock you off the tractor when mowing

Negative
It's MSMA and it's no longer illegal. Find some and spray it.

Did this a few years ago with dormant centipede. Areas where I sprayed roundup stayed dormant forever.

I spot treated mine for some crabgrass in the spring. Ended up with some brown spots in the bermuda, but only for a few weeks. I would be hesitant to broadcast it.

You have to be 1000% sure the Bermuda is totally dormant to use Roundup. If not, you will injure it. I don't recommend it. Use MSMA @ 1.5-2 QTS/acre (with an 80/20 surfactant). Follow up with a urea fertilizer @ 100lbs/ acre, or 19-19-19 @ 250lbs/acre the week after spraying.

Roundup at 1%.
EDIT: If you use roundup. I would also rec MSMA. I have some and use it and no, it's not illegal.
