Don't have time to watch all that at work. Someone watch it and give an opinion. Can't wait for it to be released.

I think I've seen it before and I was very impressed. Definitely Looks like they are heading in the right direction.

They basically demonstrate how the cause/effect in story choice works . A inquisitor fortress is under attack as well as a nearby city so the player chooses to regroup at the fortress and ignore the city which cuts off any quests from the city since it is destroyed. The rest of the video looks at how open the areas are and how they are full of things to do and find.

Yeah, DA2 was rock bottom so they are headed upward after that.

Cool.

DA2 was totally different from DA1 and people had this idea that Dragon Age meant a specific kind of 3D Bauldurs Gate style RPG. DA2 was so different it made the people who bought of the title alone get really mad that it wasn't really the same kind of game. People felt betrayed. If they had called it "DA:Stories" it would have been better received imo

edit: clarity

See I never played da1. If it's baldurs gate-like then I might should pick it up from the bargain bin and play it then because IMO, baldurs gate 1 is one of the greatest rpg games in history.

Steam sale starts next week, look for 1 there.

I like both 1 and 2, as stated they are different games.

It is not that i didn't like dragon age 2 but they were so lazy with it compared to the first one. Every cave, building, and hallway were the exact same but further the story went along the developers opened a new door or area. The game taught me a lesson to not preorder a game on brand name alone anymore.

Yeah, after being very disappointed in DA2 I was leery of getting hyped up for DA3. However, everything I've seen looks amazing.

I liked both 1 and 2 for different reasons. The combat was obviously more fun in 2, but the story in 1 is by far the better story, and the characters and feeling of impending doom is just superior. That's not to say the story in 2 is bad, I really liked the story in 2, but it's insanely linear and the world was very...tunneled. 1 is the superior game, but I didn't hate 2. That being said, if for 3 they combined the combat of 2 with the story/character development of 1, I would never buy another game again.

ETA: On subject of the video, it looks amazing for alpha stage. I also like the main character having a voice. I used to not mind it, but after seeing the difference between a voice and no voice in DA 1 and 2, I preferred him having a voice.

While the combat was definitely more fast paced in 2, especially for a melee, after a while it just got kind of tedious (to me at least). I never found the need to use tactics like I did in Origins. I think it stemmed from the swarming enemy style in DA2. Instead of 4 kinda tough enemies, you'd face 12 weak enemies that came in waves. The combat in the video looks like a really good mix of the tactical gameplay from Origins and a faster pace of DA2.

I realize that this is all subjective of course, and there's nothing wrong with enjoying DA2 more at all.

Add that they are filming a screen with a video camera and it's on a console, I agree it looks good.

Looks great. I might not be playing anything other than RPGs next-gen with games like Inquisition, The Witcher 3, The Division, Cyberpunk 2077, the new Mass Effect trilogy, and Bethesda and Obsidian's next games.
