Remembering back to how awful last year was and I craved for us to be in the playoff hunt, jockeying for positioning (byes, HFA, etc)... it sucked so bad.

I kind of feel mad at myself that I'm not enjoying this season more - it's really had some fantastic moments... the thrilling wins over Atlanta, Tampa Bay, and San Francisco. The fun, stress-free thrashings of Dallas and Miami on national TV. Depending on how this season ends up, the agonizing loss at New England might not even be that impactful (AFC losses usually aren't too costly).

I feel like I haven't been savoring this awesome season as much as I should be, and I'm going to take too much adderall, drink too much alcohol, and then enjoy a huge arse victory cigar late Thursday night after we sweep the Falcons.

That is all - this post is just a call for all of us to RELISH how awesome this season has been, and how exciting and ALIVE it feels to be in the thick of the race for HFA.

Could not agree more. After going through last season as a fan, this season has been fun as hell.
And we aren't done yet

The two losses we suffered were pretty inexcusable. With Payton and Brees, we should never lose a game...ever.

Amen, man. I pulled out a little Kermit Ruffins "All I Want For Christmas is the Saints in the Superbowl" the other day.

I have tried very hard to keep things in perspective this year, remembering how horrible it was last year. We could've started a "Who Dat Support Group" on this board.

If we can somehow just beat Seattle in 2 weeks, it's going to really lift the buzz in Nola.

Maybe it's just me but I don't feel the same buzz around town. It's like we are just going about our business.

Obviously nothing will compare to 2009 when we were undefeated, but man the entire city felt like we were on the edge of our seat all fall.

Thankfully we now are used to regular season success as a franchise. Wins are just what it takes to get to the ultimate goal. We used to be satisfied getting off to regular season wins... no more, we want more. There's the enjoy the journey psychology I spose. Once you've tasted the nectar of the Lombardi however, nothing else will do.

I am loving this season. I can remember how ecstatic I was last year with just a first victory of the season over the chargers. Now that I look back I think of how depressing it was that we were so desperate for something positive. The D blows my mind on a consistent basis. The offense may not be back fully into form, but we have still been pretty damn good there so the fact that there is still a lot of room for improvement is very exciting.

Either way I'm looking forward to a Thursday night dinner of Falcon wings and gratuitous amounts of beer.

See my post above... 10+ regular season wins?

We want another ring. "Good" seasons don't meet the standard anymore. Enjoy the ride but it's all about strapping in for that last game in the Meadowlands February 2nd.

I understand what you are saying but I really hope we don't become like LSU fans. I love our fanbase bc of the hunger we have. We lost for so long and it felt so good to finally win. I don't want us to adopt the mindset of "wake me up when we are in the Super Bowl".

well said

I'll amend the amusement park rides metaphor. If you were like me, you saved the last ride of the day for your favorite thrill. So... ride them all, but save the most thrilling coaster for Feb. 2nd.
