Was not sure if posted so sorry if Germans, I really like seeing the referee step up and take control of the situation and send a message that the shite would not be tolerated.

Tonight's super middleweight bout between Andre Ward and Edwin Rodriguez got weird when referee Jack Reiss called a lengthy time-out to lecture the boxers about how to behave themselves and "knock that shite off."

He should have just stopped it, warned them and said the next time it happened he would take points away.

I saw the fight Saturday night and couldn't believe how Jack Reiss was acting so over the top. It was ridiculous. He wasn't even "hit" by any punch. I agreed with the fact the fight was ugly and something needed to be done....but deducting 2 points from both fighters and recommending fines? In the middle of the round? For being "hit"? Ridiculous.

I thought he handled that perfectly. I can't believe dude didn't make weight fighting ward for the title. He knew he couldn't beat him so he wanted to get in there an try to beat him up by being bigger.

He took a light left hook right on the button tho.

ETA: recommending fines was a bit over the top.
