Every year I buy the newest copy of these two games and the newest NBA2k. I am only deciding to buy one this year. Which one would you recommended COD or Assassins creed?

Assassin's Creed but I'm not a huge COD fan.

I would read or watch some reviews to at least get a feel for each.

AC4, although still AC in many ways has changed it up by changing making the focus of the game to the maritime aspect that was very fun in AC3.

Ghosts is the the same thing as previous games, but after looking at the reviews it has regressed.

Buy AC, if you've played other cod games this one isn't much different. Only thing new is extinction game mode, Its like zombies but with aliens

Reviews would say get ac this year. It's one of the better games of the series I have read and I have only seen people complain about COD.

Second favorite AC game. AC2 had a better story, but AC4 is just a shite ton of fun.

I literally just got done harpooning a great white shark to death

I concur, but two comolete opposites of each other. Cod probably has more replay, but if its a story you're looking for then get AC.

When I buy COD I play the campaign all the way then I play domination only online.

With AC I play all the way through I just usually feel it get to repetitive to quickly and it' sometimes. Loses it's fun factor

Couldn't agree more. That's the biggest issue with the franchise.

The thing that keeps me going with AC though is the scenery. I really really enjoyed how the last one was in the Revolutionary War time. And how you had to work with Indians and other people. But I get tired of holding the block button then as soon as the enemey attacks you hit counter. I feel like I've done that over a million times between all of the games.

I am trudging through ac2. I just don't think this is my type of game. I love the free running, but the missions are super repetitive (It took some will power not to quit in the beginning because it's just errand after errand). Combat is clunky as hell--probably not the best game to play after coming off a batman binge.

If Black Flag is anything like AC:3, I would avoid at all costs.

Nothing like besides the controls. Plus your character isn't some whiny bitch. You spend like 5 minutes outside of the animus.

MUCH better game IMO

I took a break from the game mode to just continuously upgrade my ship and make $$$$$

My ship is essentially unstoppable so now the game mode is stupidly easy. The objective is like "Destroy all the ships and escape", it takes all of 4 mortar shots and over.

But I'm obsessed with naval battles, they're addictive. And I love deciding the fate of the ship. "Sink it or board it? I'm feeling merciless today, sink it!"

No matter what, AC4 will get repetitive. It is almost inevitable.

At the same time. Playing the same COD every year does too.

The only reason I used to buy COD every year is to be able to play multiplayer with as many people as possible (yeah, the herd mentality. Baaa goes the sheep). After one or two COD refreshes, the older games become wastelands in multiplayer. All that's left are lots of people from third world countries and parts of Europe, almost exclusively playing TDM and not much else.

Combat has never been smooth or the strong point. I don't know what it was about ac2, I just loved it. The beginning missions are definitely errands. AC2 was the first new game I had played in about 3 years so that may be why it blew my mind
