I'd like to get a present for my baby momma for her birthday coming up. She has a pretty nice Specialized street bike ($3k) which needs over 100 psi with the crazy valve stem doohickeys. She always asks me to come over to pump up the tires which I admit is pretty difficult.

Any ideas on electric pumps or really good hand pumps?

Yes, this gift is self-serving as well to keep me from having to go over there.

I have a basic hand pump that has a pressure gauge on it. You just plug the presta valve adapter in to it

I'm only answering because you live in Lawton, an uncle of mine lived there.
Good pumps, Joe Blow(serious) and Wrench Force are what I have. I inflate to 120psi so you/she'll be fine.
Go away.

So you don't like pumping her tires?

Harbor freight air compressor. Set it at 100psi. Should be able to attach the doohickey to the hose.

CO2 cartridge set up. Any decent bike shop has it.
No offense but she is riding a $3k rig and doesn't have the means to fix/inflate her own tires?

just go to a high end bike shop and get a nice floor pump with shraeder and presta fittings. if she is going to ride a $3K bike she needs to know how to inflate her own tires.

Yes, I am her means. Why does this bother you? She is very athletic and rides it often. She weighs about 107 and it's difficult for her to pump 120 psi with the adapter. We are separated and she doesn't want to buy an expensive compressor.

I was looking for ideas and I appreciate the help. The rant always provides great insight.

My Joe Blow gets used a ton, for everything. It's got a pretty thick shaft so she'll be able to get it up pretty high.

A hand pump with pressure gauge is the way to go. We have a Giant Control Tower 3, which has Shrader and Presta valve openings. It works fine. There are many kinds and every bike shop will have a wide selection from $25ish to over $100. Adapters do suck so get her a hand pump made for the Presta road tires.

Are you still talking about tires? She is single now. Maybe you can buy her next $3k bike.

My wife has a $40K SUV and doesn't know how to inflate or change her tires, but she does know how to shoot a gun
