Does anybody have any experience with Vortex optics?

I'm looking at getting a pair of binoculars for hunting and I was leaning toward a pair of Nikon Monarch 5. While checking them out today at Cabelas the salesman suggested I check out a pair of Vortex. They seemed comparable but would appreciate any feedback.

Buddy has a scope on a .308 AR, very nice glass. I feel like they are exceptional value for the quality. I think they offer a lifetime warranty but I may be wrong.

I've done some research on them and compared them to Schmidt and Bender, Nightforce, etc. They seem to be of comparable quality and much cheaper.

I've got a pair of their binoculars that I bought as a smaller pair to keep in my vehicle or something. I wasn't very impressed with them, and they have recently broken. They do have a lifetime warranty which is good, so I need to send them in. My better pair of binoculars are Nikon Monarchs. I have used Vortex spotting scopes and binoculars of the same dimensions as my Nikons. Those binoculars and the scope were of good quality.

I think that pair I own isn't made anymore, and it was from quite a few years ago. So, clearly that model wasn't that good and/or they have made some improvements.

I have a vortex optic on my AR and it's been great so far.

Great bang for your buck

I compared the Nikon monarch 5 and vortex diamondbacks last year. Chose the vortex because of price. Nice so far.

Vortex has a very good reputation. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a pair over Nikon Monarchs if there is a good price incentive to do so.

I wouldnt quite throw Vortex in with S&B, but Nightforce definitely.

Vortex makes some great equipment, all across the board. They also support shooting sports a ton.

Thanks for the input. After reading more on online, I saw very few negative comments and their warranty is awesome.

They are nice but heavy. They are consistently heavier than comparable other brands.
