NO receives: Monroe, Villanueva (expiring), Stuckey (expiring)

DET receives: Anderson, Gordon, Withey

Yay or No?

I look at it as almost two separate trades. Anderson for Monroe and Gordon and Withey for two expirings. I think the Gordon haters will like it, but I'd like to get a little more value from Gordon (if possible) then just cap space. Plus it's hard to replace Gordon's ability to create his own shot. I guess it all depends what we do with that cap space, but getting rid of our best two scorers in one deal doesn't seem like the best idea.

They could build a better, more rounded team with that deal.

It's a lot to give up though.

Yes please.

Kills 3 huge birds with one stone - legit big man, cap flexibility, and gets Tyreke into a better situation.

We'd have a shaky scoring bench but some breathing room in the offseason to address it.

I see where you're coming from but I don't think we can afford to get greedy with EG10. He could get discontented or injured any second of any game.

why were you hard on my Pellies rap? Most people liked it. Maybe you should take another look and reconsider.

I wouldnt do it. Cap space is useless if you cant use it. We need to see what this roster can do healthy and with a legit HC.

Hell no. That is a trade rape with us getting it in the arse without lube. They get two borderline all-stars and we get one. Again, hell no.

Just playing devil's advocate but maybe the only reason EG10 is playing decent and not being an a-hole is because Dell promised to move him by the All Star break if he plays hard and raises his value to the point where we get enough back.

I realize that's not likely per se, but it's also not completely out of the realm of possibility.

This is actually a good trade for both teams.

NO pairs AD with a legit, up-and-coming big, while moving Gordon's contract.

DET gets a big that can stretch the floor that would fit MUCH better with Josh Smith and Andre Drummond, while also getting much needed back-court help.

Holiday
Tyreke
(cap space)
Davis
Monroe

...looks pretty good.

The bench would need some work

If the trade were to go down, I would probably start Morrow at the 3 for this season, in order to stretch the floor with the two dominant bigs.

Benson doesn't want cap space or expiring deal. He wants to win now

I guess it depends on what his definition of "win" is. 13,000 fans in the seats and annual first round exits are attainable with (more or less) this current mismatched Pellies roster.

That's not really what most of us on Pellies Talk are shooting for. This trade would allow us to better configure the remaining pieces to become a top 4 team (or better) in the West as AD23 continues to beast.

I don't hate this trade but I'm not sure what Monroe's ceiling is. The cap flexibility would also be nice but I think we give up too much.

Would Monroe get extended first? Isn't his contract up soon?
