Im watching my school's playoff game tonight in Rosepine. They are playing Pine out of Franklinton. Kid named Derrick Dillon at QB is unreal. Making everything look easy. I don't keep up with recruiting much but went & looked & saw that he's a Junior. Throws a nice ball but seen where he has over 2,000 rush yards including tonight. Is LSU giving him a look?

he's getting a nice look. I'm hoping to nab him. I've seen him once this year and he had like 300 yards rushing.

Congrats on the win. DD is legit, and is getting looked at. Hopefully he'll get that ATH offer.

Never heard a negative thing about him. Always positive and how great of an athlete he is.

If I am remembering correctly, isn't the knock on him his height? Which causes a difficult position projection in college? Hear nothing but great things about him.

If Flutie can do it at 5'10 so can Dillon. But I'm sure his recruitment will turn out just like Russell Sheppard's did if he ends up coming to LSU. He'll get turned into a slot WR and special teams player

I've seen Dillon play several times the last couple years. He is a game changer. He is all of 5' 11" and has speed like no one else I've seen up close. Kid can also jump out of the gym. For his height he plays above the rim. Can dunk with ease.
Dillon reminds me of another local boy, Terrance Magee. I personally think Dillon is faster and more shifty in the open field, but I think Magee was stronger tnan Dillon at this point. Both have good arms as QBs, but I think Magee had better touch and was more accurate. But Dillon is definitely a special player. He should light it up next year. Kid has a bright future.

I think Dillon gets an offer either as a WR or ATH. From what I've read of him, he seems similar to Speedy Noil. And the staff is definitely interested in him.

Derrick is at least 6 ft and is only a jr. The problem is he is relied upon to carry his team each and every week. He is a good kid and has the grades also. He has very little help on either side of the ball. Like last night against rosepine when u score 50 PTs in a high school game never should u lose. Their defense is no existing. I the could get a couple o stops per game they would have at least 3 or four more regular season victories. He was also clocked at 4.38 at lsu summer camp.

Based my estimation of his height off of his comparison with my own son. my kid is currently 5' 11" and he and Dillon are very close in height. but he's definitely in that 5'10" - 6" range

It really doesn't matter if he is 5 10 or 6 ft. He is only a jr and will probably still grow. Anyway he is a special athlete. He will get his offer and believe he will be a tiger.
