He should be the top JUCO prospect

I want to say this, but his baggage is still a concern IMO.

Doesnt mean anything, you go all out for a player of his caliber. He could be the difference between a mediocre season and a great season next year if we lose JOB III and Martin along with Stringer and Coleman.

If we get him we will be stacked with guards next year

I disagree, but who knows Gray may have turned the corner and be heading in the right direction. I don't think you sacrifice character for talent.

Dude he's humble now. Completely a differn person. Going to college helped him realize the opportunities he has. I know josh and I can assure you he has no baggage

This is basketball.

Win at all costs, you take every chance. This kid will average Pistol Pete numbers this season.

If Gray is ready to come to LSU and work, then he could be special. I like the idea of him coming in to add a scoring threat to our back-court next season. I think we'll miss Stringer's scoring ability next year.

We could have a nasty back court with Hickey, Quarterman, Morgan and Hornsby if you add Josh Gray to that mix. If Martin does decide to leave, we would be a guard focused team for sure.

Don't forget freshmen G Jalyn Patterson. I think that's a good back-court. The jury's still out on Morgan. He has the potential to be an offensive threat for us. I think Gray could be a key because Quarterman and Morgan are question marks on offense. Hornsby will be a new addition on the court. Hickey is a guy who can create his own shot, but isn't a very good shooter. Patterson will be a freshmen combo guard.

I do think Martin stays one more season too. We could be really scary next season.

Eh, either way, with or without Gray, he wont play much next year (unless something drastic changes with our guards I listed above). He wont get more playing time than any of those 4 I listed, and make that 5 if Gray was added to that. Patterson is a solid gamer type, but not an immediate impact kind of guy.

To me he's kind of like a Stringer/Hickey type coming in except he wont have to start right away (like those guys did) because we have all those other guys. He'll develop and get better as the years move along.

I just dont see it, his athletcism and size is going to have draft grades of Top 10/15 pick written all over him. I'm actually thin kthere's a better chance we'd lose JOB III, Martin AND Mickey over getting back one out of JOB III and a Martin.

I agree that Patterson won't have to be relied upon like Hickey and Stringer were relied upon. He'll get some minutes though.

Martin's athleticism is great, but I wouldn't underestimate the learning curve from high school to college ball. I could be very wrong, but I think his game is a little too raw at this point. Of course, he hasn't played a full game yet so I'll wait and see

Keep in mind this matters nothing to NBA scouts. It's all about athleticism and size.

Bennett was just the #1 pick in the NBA draft and averaged 16/8 in college. Size? Check. Athleticism? Check. Good numbers, but not something you'd expect a #1 overall pick to have.

Nerlens Noel had a miserable offensive game in college and was the #6 pick in the same draft. Size? Check. Athleticism? Definite check.

Honestly 50/50 right now Louisville intrigues him because of the name. But he would love to come home considered LSU as his dream school

None of the mocks I've seen have Martin listed at all, let alone the first round, let alone the first 10/15 picks. Unless he's just dead set on entering the draft no matter what, I see him being at LSU at least 2 years
