Dad has one and hasn't had any problems in 100k miles. His is a FX4 if that matters. From what I have heard/read, there really isn't much of a difference between the 3.5 and the 5.0

Love mine. Havent really got the advertised gas mileage, although I'm sure thats tied to my heavy foot with the turbo'd engine.

ETA: Have a 2011 FX4 with 60k miles

Before you buy it look at the 2013's in stock and check the price. You can get 11K off the sticker on a new one and really low interest. I just looked at a new 2013 FX4 in Houston for a little over 38K.

I'm a V8 guy, just personal preference...but, good engine and good truck. If he's giving you a deal, go for it. Just make sure he was religious on maintenance, but that goes for any used vehicle.

You mean other than the Ecoboost having higher end hp at lower rpm

I have Ecoboost KR 2012. Honestly don't buy it for gas reduction. Minimal difference. Get it for the torque and performance specs. No maint issues yet after 20k miles. I do sometimes wish I could hear the rumble of the v8 but the turbo sounds are nice too

Which translates into more torque down low where you want it in a truck. In fact it makes more torque everywhere in the RPM range a truck can use.

2013 FX4 EcoBoost owner here.

Absolutely love it.

Getting ready to install SCT programmer in the next few weeks. Have a buddy that has 35s with the SCT and he chirps 3rd. Gets 24mpg from his dash reading. Anyone have the SCT? Thoughts? Reviews?

24mpg? Holy shite? I drive 50/50 mix of hwy and get 17. Like I said I don't give it much credit for gas mileage but based on specs alone it competes

Unless his ECM has been tuned to correct for the new tires his dash reading is going to be off.

I have a 2011 FX2 Ecoboost with 56k miles. I have no complaints. It is a great truck. Truck before this was a Toyota Tundra. As much as I loved that truck at the time, it does not come close to my 2011 F-150 FX2. It rides great. I get between 18-20 on the HWY. Around 15 in the city. Pull the trigger and don't look back.

Not to burst your bubble, but LINK

Not saying it isn't worth the extra couple of hundred dollars, just that their torque and hp curves are similar
