Mel Kiper might have just helped us get some important pieces back for next season

I just skimmed through, but all I've read says most of these guys could go in the top 2-3 rounds. If that's the case they are gone.

Hill is gone...as he should be. Can't blame him one bit.

If OBJ just has to run a solid 40 time to go very high, I'm sure he's confident in his ability to do that. He's done.

Collins will likely take the 2nd round money, over risking an injury to be a possible 1st rounder next year. He's likely gone.

I didn't catch any part on Landry. But I just skimmed through it.

I didn't get anything good out of Ego or Johnson from that either.

My guess is..if these guys think they can go 3rd round or higher they bolt for the NFL.

Someone posted an interesting topic not long ago, with information from a NFL scout he knows. It basically explained how coming back for another year will benefit MOST kids. Said that the money they would make from improving their stock from 3-4th rounders to 1-2nd rounders would more than make up for the money they missed out on coming back that one year.

Of course as a 22 year old kid you don't really think that way. You want the money now. And I can't say I blame them.

Hill - round 3-4 - gone
Collins - round 3 - gone
OBJ - round 2-3 - gone
Landry - round 3-5 - could possibly stay, but I wouldn't bet on it
Turner - round 3-5 - unknown
Hilliard - round 7+UFA - I keep hearing that he's gone, but should stay

Ego - round 3-4 - gone (4th year at LSU)
Freak - round 3-4 - gone (as stated in article, he's been on a 3 year track from day one)
Rasco - round 5-7 - should stay, although I worry that he sees himself as a 3 year guy

In the article comments, Kleinpeter says it best, "Most players have their minds made up before the season." I think you have guys who have already gotten some feedback, and have decided.

The article said Ego and Freak will both be drafted high and Freak is a possible late 1st rounder which begs the question (Why have they been dogging it all year?)

Ego hasn't been dogging it. I'm not sure Freak is healthy, and even when he is, not sure what he's done to warrant 1st round consideration.

Now college football is not important...and people wonder why the fan base is not showing up...and leaving early...the players don't really care about the fans or the university...so why should the fans give a damn about the team...just presenting another view on the scramble for the bucks...and when the players don't make it in the NFL and don't graduate with any marketable skills...and don't save a penny of the bonus money...then what...EBT cards for life...just something to think about!

You really think players leaving early for the NFL is a new thing?

Pro sports never have interested me...paying grown men huge amounts of money to play a kids game is a boring thought to me...the Romans used to make them fight for their lives...if that's your bag, go for it...I prefer to think of it as a game of skill and grit...not a way to make a living...but that's just me...I played basketball and flag football into my 60s...silly me...but I enjoyed it...

They get paid huge amounts of money because they generate huge amounts of money. Obviously, most of the nation doesn't view it as a "kids game". Heck, most kids play the sport looking up to pro players, or wanting to be just like them.

If you can make a living (and quite a living, might I add) doing something you love, wouldn't you?
