looking for recs (possibly around dome, but not necessity) for lunch/brunch and some drinks on Sunday. Heading to the game.

I checked out La Petite Grocery (heard good things) but I wasn't sure how "fancy" it was...will just be in jeans and saints attire.

Atchafalaya has jazz bands that play on Saturday and Sunday, great cocktails, a Make Your Own Bloody Mary Bar, and a pretty lively atmosphere. Trust me on this one.

Atchafalaya doesn't take reservations, right? Shouldn't he get the early to avoid a wait? I haven't been, but I think I've read that it can be crowded and there can be a wait.

There's not a place in the GNO area that won't be packed Sunday fro brunch. Atcahafalaya is very good - the Food at Elizabeth's is its equal IMO. Atchafalaya has a nicer bldg/atmosphere, but is also a bit more expensive.

Signficantly better. Not really close.

And I like Elizabeth's a lot.

And yes, Atchafalaya takes reservations.

Atchafalaya all day. it's just a great place for brunch .. and this coming from a guy who dislikes brunch.

currently, the earliest you can get a table for 4 on Sunday is @ 12:45. doubt that lasts much longer along with any other open reservations that afternoon. is the Saints game kickoff time set in stone yet?

btw, Apolline has a 10a available. as does Luke . which may be a solid choice if you want to stay downtown.

Thanks. I may have confused it with another place, but I thought some folks had talked about having to wait on a table. Maybe they didn't have a reservation.

Appoline is good for brunch too. The chicken and waffles I had there last time was awesome.

Atchafalaya just has a really good atmosphere to go along with it all.

+1

They do a solid job and they have some outside seating.

They are really good too.

I went 2 Sundays ago with no rezzies, and was able to get a table right away. I did show up 10 minutes before they opened, and took a first come first serve outside table.

I will be there to and I am going to "Eat" in the quarter. They don't have a liquor license so BYOB with no fee.

We make 24 oz Bloody Marys at the condo and walk in with them.

Definitely Atchafalaya.

When you go to Eat, be sure to mention the password "Mrs. Gail." You'll get 20% off of your ticket. This offer is good for 2 weeks.

The no corkage is good on your first bottle. It's $15 per bottle after that.

When I ate there during Red Dress Run, I went in with a big thermos full of a mixed drink, and they didn't care. They also don't care if you come in with drinks from Good Friends.
