Not yet. They are still playing hard, they just aren't playing very effectively. 3-6 is still too early for guys to think they're out of the playoffs. 5-15 might be another story.

We win 3 games we are at .500, basically where we need to be.

We need to be at .500 and starting to play a lot better going into the break. Honestly, thats the only thing that matters.

All of the chicken littles are ridiculous.

I still think Monty is a bad coach though, no matter what happens.

Maybe it's my anti-Montyism, but it looks to me that the players are tuning him out during timeouts. They look very disinterested.

I noticed that as well, it's not surprising.

I don't see (esp. after last night) what is going to change to where we turn this around and win 3 in a row. We have the talent to pull an LSU and do well in spite of our head coach, but I'm not entirely sure THAT'S even possible considering how much Monty handicaps this team. And if you think my sentiment is pessimistic, you are surely the delusional one. I love this team and hope no matter what my analysis of our situation may be. I will always pull for, have faith in, and want the Pels to win. Every night. And if I'm proved wrong by Monty, I will be an ecstatic, happily mistaken fan.

Sky's not falling, but it sure looks ominous.

FWIW, I was insistent behind giving Monty a fair chance with a finally adequate, healthy roster. But the telltale problems that his hater's nitpicked on in seasons prior are now our PRIMARY, if not our ONLY, problems.

We are seeing this team do well consistently in every game.. But only for half the game. That is NOT a player problem. That is a motivation/coaching problem 100%.

Why listen when the play is going to be Jason Smith pick and pop I'm not saying cracks aren't there, but losing a team is a process that doesn't happen in overnight.

How is this not a bigger deal to everyone who thinks that this is just too small a sample size? Players not being motivated to win against the team that has not yet won a game? COME ON.

Like I said in my previous post, we may win in spite of Monty--because we have the talent to do just that--but we sure won't be winnning as many close games as we need to with the coaching we've seen through Monty's tenure.

I'm seeing more signs of a coach who has never really had the team fully on board to begin with.

It's a little of both, but there is no veteran leader on this basketball team. The team is not on the same page right now.

If the Pels drop to a record of 3-9,4-8 or worse, while still looking horrid, then Monty needs to go, if for any other reason than to show the players that mediocrity will not be accepted. There is absolutely no reason for this team to lose 45+ games again this year, and they are on pace for much worse than that given 4 losses to mediocre to bad teams.

In the end, If they hit double digit losses before the 1st week of December is over, this team may very well be done.

re: Question for everyone regarding Monty

There is a big stretch coming up in mid December where the team plays 10 out of 12 games on the road. That kind of a stretch could really kill the team if it's not at or near .500. It starts in 12 games, so if they go 5-7 before the stretch and then 5-7 during the road stretch, that leaves them at 13-20 overall. It'd take a monster effort the rest of the season to get close to the playoffs (32-17 the rest of the way). They need to get as many as these early games as possible..

The guy could reel off a 10 game winning streak and then lose 3 straight and everyone will be questioning his coaching ability again. The only consistent thing he has proven over the past few years is that he is an average to below average coach.

Dump him now and don't delay the inevitable.

.409 Winning Percentage with 1/3 of his seasons coaching a CP3 led team. I'll go with the latter.

I'm confused.

I'm off the Monty bandwagon, but it's too early too fire him. . It's a desperation move right now that shows impatience and panic. UNLESS you have topnotch replacement lined up.

Probably

How much more do we need to see of this guy before we panic? I had a handful of ambien last night ready to take before my wife knock the shite out of me.

This is why I said probably. I don't think Benson thought we would be this bad this soon.

It is becoming quite clear that Pelicans Talk has a fervent affair with self-medicating

A lot of the problem really may be that it takes mature and special talent to effectively use this unorthodox roster.

It just sucks because i so badly want to see this roster with a fully healthy anderson, but that won't happen until at least 3 games after he comes back because it's gonna take him time to get anywhere near game shape, especially if he can't condition much with his foot being sore.

I assume Daniel Veuleman asked Kyler a specific question
