As much as I think we need to make a coaching change, these guys have to man up. You're getting paid. I'm no expert but I believe in basketball, more than any other sport, you can win games on effort alone. When these guys come out flat or face any kind of run, no one wants to step up and lead. No one wants to crush that run with the little things like hustle, communication, ball security, etc. We thought this would be the soft spot of the schedule and we've lost to some pretty bad teams.

I didn't get the sense that we quit. Our "big 4" put up solid numbers, again minus turnovers, and I thought they hustled for the most part. They just played stupid on defense and out of control on offense.

But does it take a change in leadership?

You're right, not quit. But as bad as Monty may be, I guarantee he's taught these guys how to defend the pick and roll until he was blue in the face. Step up and do your job.

Getting out rebounded 26-12 in 2nd half? C'mon. Utah has very capable bigs but that can't happen.

i put a lot of the blame on monty, but the players sure as hell aren't playing as hard as they should be. too many plays where it looked like nobody gave a frick on defense

I thought Monty lost some of his voice last year with the players. I'm convinced now.

I really don't know. Something has to get the guys to light a spark. They should be playing like guys who were unwanted and want to prove themselves. A change up top may do it but these guys only play good after a opposing player scores sometimes. They have the ability to blow out a lot of teams and they just don't do it. And when they do they just let up. I just don't know what's up

You have to admit though, some of those out of time out plays were pretty damn good this game.

Hell look at the 1st game. We had the Pacers on the ropes for 3+ quarters.

That's what's most frustrating. Every close game we've been in and lost, at some point we had a double digit lead.

happens more frequently in the league than you'd think.

bucs won the first quarter tonight, 36-23 and lost by 3. and that was just the first random box score i picked out tonight to prove my point

not saying it doesn't happen more to us, but it happens more in general than you'd think

Agreed, but it's like nothing at all has changed from how we lost games last season.

I'm sorry, but not many teams in this league would blow a 16 point lead to the Jazz.

Something has to change after a result like that. Something is wrong with this team and a guy like Anderson won't totally change that

You're right. Bring in a new head coach or another another assistant specifically for defense.

I mean it's not like we'd be much worse.
