We suck on defense now because of the defensive players we lost to out of state teams.

Or because our defense was so talented the previous year that over half our defense went to the NFL. But let's ignore that.

Texas A&M joining the sec hurt as well and will continue to hurt.

Small dent, no long term detrimental effect.

Oh please, don't make me bump this thread.

I think they're referring to the Zook era in Gainesville.

yep. 4 and 5 loss seasons three years in a row are considered "zook" like years. Miles almost had 3 straight years with 4 or 5 losses. I laid out why above.

Sumlin is much more of a headache than Miles. Last three meetings:

LSU 34

More like Manziel.

Sumlin has been there 2 years. How many coaches have had as many chances as Miles to play Alabama under Saban?

So you are on record saying that without Manziel, Sumlin still has a chance against Alabama?

Oh really? Then give me the reason why Les is the first in LSU's history to consistently achieve this?

The state of the LSU football program was at an all time high in 2005. What would Miles' record look like if he took over the program in 1995?

This. First freshman Heisman winner ever. Of course, that has nothing to do with it.

Completely pathetic.

Would miles still be at Lsu if Tennessee didn't have 12 guys on the field in 2010?

What does this have to do with anything? One is a heisman winning do it all QB, the other is a simple coaching blunder and they actually had 13.

Alabama lost over half of their defense in 2010 to the NFL. They had the #1 defense in the country in 2011.

They also lost over half of their defense to the NFL last year. They currently have the 6th rated defense in the country.

03 - BCSNC W
07 - BCSNC W
11 - BCSNC L

Looks like Les Miles is at least keeping the 4 year BCS trend going. This incoming recruiting class ensures we'll be a very talented team the next few years as well.

So what is the story or excuse for Dabo, Richt, Freeze? Bottom line is Nick owns Les. Don't pump your bull shite 4-3 record. Three in a row! Alabama owns LSU. Alabama will continue to own LSU not as long as Nick is there, but as long as Miles is at LSU.

Bama and Saban own EVERYBODY right now, not just Miles! Find me the coach that has a winning record against him. Freeze? Richt? Sumlin?

Find me the one other coach in CFB that has a record agains Saban anywhere close to CLM has and we will quit quoting his CLM's record against Saban to you.

re: Facts about Les Miles (Alabama related) - Let's talk this out edition

Our fans are really struggling to gain any perspective right now. Let's look at a few facts:

1. Nick Saban is the BEST coach in CFB right now, no one disputes that fact right?

2. Nick Saban is the best recruiting HC in CFB right now, if he's not THE best he is on a very short list.

3. Adding to Saban's recruiting prowess, the REC is the most powerful and well funded booster organization in CFB, and with their assist, Saban is able to bring in the TOP recruiting class year after year.

4. Out of all the top teams in the SEC, Bama has the easiest schedule in the conference.

So in review, Bama has the BEST coach, coaching the BEST players, and plays the EASIEST schedule.

So what EXACTLY should our expectations be against that? No matter who our HC is, what would your most REALISTIC expectations be given the conditions outlined above?

Hell Vince Lombardi wouldn't do better than 5-3 given those conditions!

quote:

You think recruiting is a one-man game? Different recruiting sites split ranking the #1 recruit between crob and Leonard Fournette, who is leaning heavy toward LSU. There are also a few 5 stars ready to sign with us, and other top-50 prospects as well. Do you ever visit the recruiting board? Ever? Or are you one of those that just read CRob chose Bama over LSU on the Rant and thought that was our recruiting class out the window?

Nope, I know absolutely nothing about recruiting. The following is a complete shot in the dark:

Alabama has had the #1 ranked class in the country according to at least 1 of the major recruiting sites for the last 3 years.

With Cam Robinson(and possibly more) this will mark the 3rd straight year bama has gone into Louisiana and signed a 5 star recruit that Lsu wanted. Lsu has not gone into Alabama and done that in years, and will probably not again this year.

Cam Robinson is only the second recruit from west Monroe hs that Lsu has wanted and not gotten in over a decade. The other was Luther Davis. They both went to Alabama. But I'm sure that's ok with you, because Robinson isn't the consensus #1 player in the country. As you so astutely pointed out, even though he is the consensus #1 OT in the country, he's rated as low as the #3 overall player on some of the major sites. Lsu losing him is really not a big deal.

It's always last year and next year with you guys. How about you place the expectation on your coach to beat bama this year?

Fine, first REGULAR season since I have to spell it out for your smart ass.

I mean, that's a pretty big distinction, don't you think? Remind me, what bowl dd they play in? And by play, I mean get shutout, fail to run a play in the opposing teams territory until less than 5 minutes left in the game, and suffer the most embarrassing loss in the history of that game?

quote:

Are you really saying the Ole Miss loss was on Les?

If you're giving him on the credit for the 2011 undefeated regular season, then you bet your arse he's getting the blame for losing to an inferior injury-riddled opponent.

Btw, I'm still waiting for an answer. Where do miles' 5 losses vs Saban rank him nation wide?

Hate to keep beating a dead horse here...but PERSPECTIVE man. LSU went into FLA and got PP the #1 there. They got Russel Shepard and Craig Loston from TX, they were number one at their positions in the country. Miles got Joe Barksdale from Detroit, the number one DT that year. He got Montgomery from the Carolina's and Minter from GA and Ridley from MS, and Kwon from AL. I'm sure there are a bunch more I am missing.

NOBODY is going into Bama right now and stealing a number one player from Saban! Not Notre Dame, not Ohio St., not USC, not Oregon....NOBODY! They aren't just cherry picking the top LA players, they are cherry picking the top talent from the entire country right now!

You know why? BECAUSE THEY CAN!

Yeah it sucks when they come in and pluck a couple of guys we would really like to have, but for the life of me I have trouble seeing how ANYONE else in the country could do any better than CLM has to this point. As they say out on the farm, "it's a tough row to hoe right now".

Was it LM's fault that he had to play them AGAIN? I mean, he DID go there and beat them on there home field.

Yeah and Miles was so fricking smart he used almost the exact same game plan as the first time we played them.

It's already been mentioned in this thread. Miles is 3-5 against Saban. Sumlin is 1-1. What do I win?

Tennessee did NOT have 12 men on the field. They had thirteen!
