Would do wonders for this program with morale and recruiting for next year. Just my thoughts . Please don't hammer me. I'm sensitive in the morning.

Certainly possible. A&M has the worst defense ever. Arkansas is crap, and LSU will play in a shitty bowl, so should get a weak team in that game.

I think this team finishes 8-5. I can't see the team getting up for A&M, and will fold once the Aggies get up by two scores or more.

The Tigers should beat Arkansas, but it will be way closer than it should be.

LSU will go into whatever bowl game with no enthusiasm. Seniors and those declaring for the draft will be more focused on the draft than the bowl game. Whatever team we play will, like Clemson, see it as an opportunity to beat an "elite" team and will be absolutely pumped up. LSU will go through the motions for a half, then try a little in the second half before eventually realizing it's fruitless and just letting the game go.

Mett will throw his helmet again.

Disagree here. If LSU finishes at 9-3, A cap one bowl is possible.

A win over A&M would be huge - we REALLY need that right now, and I think it's very achievable. Might be a shoot out like Georgia game, and we will need to score on every drive, but we can't let the Aggies take one from us at home!

remember, bowl games arent about "deserving teams" or even based on the fictitious tie-ins. its political BS and ticket sales. we wont get chicken because of last yr's poor travel and sales. i was there. no lsu enthusiasm. Gary Stokan and the chick fil a bowl committee wont invite us back for consecutive trips. sales would diminish even more.

Recruiting had little to no effect on year to year records. Tenn has #2 class in country right now and they are god awful LSU had their best year recruiting with their worst record under Miles 2008. Fans put way too much stock into records affecting recruits.

Yup, however 10-3 still would do wonders for the overall moral.

Like the OP said, a shitty bowl. I'd rather the Cotton Bowl.

i don't care for the cap or chicken bowl..

i'd rather just play some other crappy bowl instead. doesn't matter much to me once it's outside the bcs.. would be all for something different.

this is just my opinion/preference

Fwiw I don't think we have to worry about getting invited back to the Chicken bowl this year. I don't think they want us because we simply aren't a good enough team even though I agree with your post. Even as bad as A&M is on defense, they are a billion times stronger on offense than any team that we have faced. Realistically speaking I'm counting this as a loss. So that leaves us at 7-4. Does the team fold the Arky game or squeak it out??? Remains to be seen. So we are either looking at 7-5 or 8-4. I can't see the Cotton,or Cap 1 being interested in either of these two outcomes. Reinforcing what you posted, I would think that any bowl would be cautious of how well our fans would travel after the kind of year this has been. There is no excitement anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if half the stadium is empty for the A&M game although there will probably be more LSU fans there to say they saw the great JFF than to watch the Tigers

Link to where morale on the team is low?

The "low morale" of our basically shitty fair-weather fans is different than the actual morale of the team and the program.

Miles will have this team ready to come out and crack skulls when the Aggies get to town. It is his best trait...his guys play hard for him. Am I saying the defense will magically become great and we will quit making mistakes? No. But anyone who thinks this team is just going to roll over the last 3 games of the season just has no clue.

Sadly, I agree with your prediction on attendance. Makes me somber as a fan that lives 9 hrs away. I'd love the opportunity and privilege to be able to CHOOSE not to go. I'd be in that stadium every Saturday if I had the financial means and distance on my side. I was in Athens (only 45 mins away) in September and I'd go to the chicken bowl if that's where we ended up. Any chance I get to see my tigers play. I want a good crowd next week for the visits, as much as anything. I don't think aTm is a given loss. We can beat them.

I live in the Dallas area and I go see the tigers anytime that they play here. I grew up in Hammond, and used to go to the games all the time. It's funny the things that we take for granted in life
