Anyone have experience with this pistol and any good/bad things to say about it? I'm about to get my first carry gun and know it's pretty popular. I should be able to rent one at a range this weekend but before then I figured I'd come here for opinions. I'll be looking at the 9mm

Excellent choice. I think Palmetto had them on sale yesterday - may want to check out

It doesn't have an external safety, if I remember correctly. With small kids, that's a must for me.

Yep. Really confident in the little guy. Good choice for a small gun.

I see both sides of this statement. I've got 5 revolvers in my house and a 9 month old being more and more active each day. I'm at the cross roads on this issue. My reserve side says if shite hits the fan and someone enters my house, I want a revolver in my hand. I've got a gun in every room of my house at this time, but also know I can't do that in the near future because of the child.

I appreciate the input guys! Had to pass on the Palmetto sale unfortunately but if all goes well I'll be the proud owner of one of these (or something similar like an XDs or P938) in the coming weeks

It does have an external safety. I wished I could have ordered one without it.

ETA: sorry about piling on. Didn't realize how many folks jumped on that ooops.

I love the safety. Something about a safety makes me feel safe. It's the reason I went with the Shield over the Springfield XDS

-1. I want my semi as close to a revolver in functionality as possible. Point, pull.

I have opposable thumbs so it's not hard for me to take the gun off of safety in order to fire.

Agree with this. I'll probably get blasted on here for saying this but that is why I love my S&W Sigma. No safety but a little heavier trigger pull which is fine with me.

My gun has a safety, it absolutely will not fire without the trigger being fully depressed. Good enough for me.

ETA: It has another safety as well, keeping your finger on the external hammer allows you keep the trigger from moving it if you don't want it to.

Different strokes for different folks. No need to fight about it.

Good gun. I don't think you go wrong with it. I look at one two days ago and almost bought it. Bought the Colt Defender instead, though.
