Well, not unless you think Rackers, Dimke or Graham are better options.

I would like to think Graham is more automatic from within 40, especially in a dome.

Besides the Atlanta game which games has Hartley cost the Saints? Not saying he's the best but how many games has he cost us?

His miss vs the Jets did not help the flow of the game.

One more bad game and Hartley is in trouble. Field goal kicking could play a huge factor Sunday. He better get his head out of his arse.

In the year 2004, I had Rackers as my Fantasy kicker. That fricker could put up 20 a game. He'd be kicking 50 plus left and right. I also won my league that year with a ton of S Louisiana talent. Diamond Dick Davis, Michael Clayton, and Delhomme.

I saw a stat in the Dallas game that Hartley is better away from the Dome this season.

That seems backwards.

I am tired of closing my eyes and holding my breath every time that Hartley gets up there to kick.

Exactly. From 40 in, in a dome it should be going straight through the fricking uprights every single time. Not hooking in, not left of center, but drilled down the middle end over end.

It's so easy to pick out people that have never kicked a football in their life.

Pretty irrelevant. He isn't supposed to be one of the best in the country/world at it. I'm sure he can't throw a football better than Josh Freeman either.

There were 10 NFL teams that didn't miss 1 kick under 40 yards in 2012.

that's funny...seems like it happens fairly regularly for good nfl kickers

All kickers miss. Even short ones in domes.

When is the last time emo had a good season? 2008 or 2009? Has he finished in the top 20 % wise since then?

We're 30th this year and were 20th last year

Looking like '09 was his last consistent year. I was saying Hartley deserves a pass. Just saying people expecting perfection out of a kicker are crazy.

but every year there are 5-10 teams who's kickers are perfect from under 40

There are currently 15 teams at 100% on kicks under 40 yards for the 2013 season.

I'm not saying we should cut him just yet, but he's on an extremely short leash after the last 2 seasons

Honestly I think it's time for a change. he's making 73% of his kicks this year. There's just no excuse for that at the NFL level. I don't expect perfection, but 7 out of 10 is not getting it done.

You're probably right. he's basically around for his 2009 Playoff memories at this point. I thought he had turned the corner after preseason and the start to this season

If he were only missing kicks outside and (obviously) not at home, it'd be one thing. But missing short kicks in a dome at home is just unacceptable. I could forgive one, but multiple just isn't cutting it.

Graham is the 7th most accurate kicker of all time.

Hartly is better than 12 current kickers all time, but worse than like 16 current kickers all time.

Rice is getting old, maybe we can trade Hartley and Ingram to the Ravens for Rice and their 23 yr old kicker - Tucker - who's 2nd all time. If we want to get rid of him and all might as well try to shed Ingram as well?

What makes you think they would do that?
