Since we aren't doing the waterfowl shoot out I thought we could have a thread to show and talk all about waterfowl.

My one marsh hunt of the year. It was nice working the dog while knocking the rust off my wing shooting skills.

ETA: Go back and label what zone you hunted in

Saw alot of birds in Jones LA at Otis2's place. Birds of every shape and size.

Was at Hwy 15 in Monroe saturday and they are wrapped up as well.

Jonesville area is a little more sparce. Catahoula reports are mixed. Some say its empty but Larry Reynolds report said it was full of ducks. I know for a fact there are neighboring clubs to Catahoula that dont have birds.

2 of us today

I just pulled over on the side of hwy 425 between pine bluff and star city and watched a group of about 200 funnel into a small pocket of water in a cut bean field. Looked like mostly pinnys. 'Twas pretty. Lots of ducks and geese milling about up here. Cold as a well diggers arse.

Bwahah I would say the same thing if I hunted there. Was unable to hunt this weekend due to some commitments but I'll be after them Friday-Sunday. Crew I hunt with did very well in PI and got a few other good scattered reports from the coast. Will report back with results

Glad the front is rolling through in the middle of the week, those luck enough to hunt should have a quality hunt without every yahoo banging at the birds and the may get comfortable before the weekend

3 man limit on sat and sun

blues, greens, mottleds, cans, redheads (greys seen but not killed)

Others at camp shot woodies, wigeon, dos gris, pintail, grays.

Big birds are here, just not in big numbers by us yet

Killer early season hoists

Not sure on west zone numbers.

Cooling down at the moment, ready to make it rain this weekend...hall pass is already in my back pocket.
