Bama Fans Were Surprisingly Great

I went to Tuscaloosa in 2009 and to the national championship when we played them and they were horrible. Just not fun to be around.
There was a lot of banter but it was all in good fun. I actually enjoyed myself. I was thinking it would have been bad being that there was a high probability we would lose, but I must say I had a great time despite the loss.
How was everyone else's experience?

This was the first time in a while that they probably weren't worried about us winning the game.

I hate Alabama because of the success of their football team, the inverse relationship their success has on ours, their head coach being our ex-head coach and him being maybe the greatest college head coach of my lifetime.
BUT, I always have a great time in Tuscaloosa. And their fans (the ones that actually went to school at Alabama) are really good people.

They were cool in 2009, 2011, and 2013. I've really had no problems except a select few all three times I've been.
They were also extremely hospitable each time.

Of course they were great. They never thought they'd lose. They are horrible to be around after a loss. As it was, they were happy to pat us on the head and say "better luck next year, little brother."

Bama students are mostly okay and a ton are actually out of state. Some Greeks are douches, but self identify with how they dress.
The ones to stay away from are the ones that usually aren't at the game, but the service station or awkward public encounters.

don't mean to hijack, I went to the Ga game earlier this yr and had a blast. Ran out of coke and was drinking hot tequila in the stands with my Dawg buddy.

Their fans that can afford to buy tickets and attend the games have always been first rate. Its the fat arse, trailer trash, sister humping hillbillies with the mullets and the Walmart Bama t-shirts that make their fan base look bad. We suffer from the same affliction fwiw.
