It may be true in normal times that recruiting classes in the top 5 or even the top 10 can all be considered comparable. This is simply false right now. Bama has separated themselves from the rest of the pack, they have done it for a number of years, and the result is a roster with an incredible depth of size and talent. Bama has money, tradition, glamour, inside influence, and Saban. It is a perfect storm that is unprecedented.

But listen - nothing lasts forever, and this won't either. Meanwhile, the immature little punks on this board want to tear the whole program down in their selfish, childish rage. It's disgusting, but not surprising, given the prevailing level of intelligence in Louisiana.

Of course it won't last forever. Saban has to retire someday.

Right. Why even try to compete? I hate this attitude.

Smoke one for me. Most people know this and it is the reason they are pissed. They don't want to see their team going back to being an also ran. It's called venting, I did it myself now I'm done. If LSU wins these last two and get's the remaining big fish on the board they will be ok.

They are outspending us 2 to 1 plus they have Saban . No let's give les another 2 more years . Two more years would make this emerging cluster frick harder to unravel.

I don't think they're on a different level recruiting wise. They haven't had the volume of NFL underclassmen from one side of the ball leave. I think they're a much more disciplined team and play fundamentally sound football.

No doubt. Its been revealed twice in the last year but the media just drops it as soon as it comes out... Amazing really.

I think until 2012 people talked themselves into thinking the two programs were similar. May have been until 2009 or so. They've clearly separated at this point.

So, then what you are saying is that when in 6 of the last 8 years we have had a top 10 recruiting class those recruits were complete crap rankings? Ever think that maybe, just maybe one coach knows how to utilize their talent better? Is able to coach up the lower tier recruits better? Is able to make game time adjustments better? Maybe, when you compare the preparation before and during the season one coaches philosophy is better than the others? Its not just the recruits, its Miles's whole philosophy, it isn't working like it used to and he isn't changing it.

And that's only what's published. I would imagine it's more like 3 to 1

I won't go into it, but I know for a fact that you don't know how right you are. Hopefully somebody post-Emmert finds this interesting, and in the future we'll have a much different view of the current era of Bama domination.
