Start today and went as far as I could go. Still waiting on the glue. This is a link I posted a few years back to show how its done.

LINK

Just a few pictures. This pirogue will be around 13'6" with 11" sides and a 26" bottom at its widest point.

Bow stems

Lay out

Done cutting. What is left is for the bottom.

Did you buy 14' sheets of plywood or are you butting them together?

This.

I was going to do a complete how to, but after spending two hours posting it, I lost it some how.

That is why I have a link in my first post to show how it's done.

A wooden pirgogue may be a bit heavier than a fiberglass chopper gun one but I just think they are better all around. We still have three about the size you are making that were made by my great grandfather while he was still alive. Paddle great and are really stable.

For sure.

I have a chopper gun glass pirogue that is over 40 years old that was made down in Da Parish.

I know of three wooded ones that I built that are still in service that are over 30 years old.

Got some work done. It's taking shape. This is going to be one big pirogue. Should hold two big men, dog, gear and decoys with no problem.
