Juan Kincaid (WWL) said it just before LSU-Bama kick off. How accurate is that?? So we have Zero (or near Zero) RBs for that class if he doesn't commit??

we have 1 already committed. If Fournette doesn't come to LSU (which he will), we'll find someone else. But no one near the caliber of Fournette.

we didn't recruit one last year as a play for LF. I don't see that being an issue if LF comes here along with Williams from Ehret.

Williams is committed to Arizona State. We do have another RB committed, however.

To be honest we didnt recruit any in the last 2 years. Jeremy Hill was suppose to be 2011. So technically we have cleared the deck for Fournette in 2012 and 2013

So is Alabama doing the same thing?

I don't like the fact that LSU is all-in on this guy. Anybody remember Joe McKnight??

Bama lost Bo Jackson because they didn't need him and said he'd sit on the bench for a few years.

Not saying Leonard is in Bo's league but ya know

Boo is already committed. They were saying that we didn't take one last year to get fournette this year.

Bama signed 4 backs last year and has one committed. They chose the better safe than sorry route but would obviously find room for LF if he wanted to come.

Palelei is very good and not talked about as much bc of LF. Bet your arse we have a backup in mind and also keep in mind that we have 2 really good RB's for 16 and maybe (wink) Dylan Moses for 17

Exact opposite -- remember T.J. Yeldon and Kenyon Drake running over us Saturday? Both from the class of 2012. Their third RB, Derrick Henry, is from the class of 2013. All of our contributing RBs (Hill, Hilliard, Magee) were from the class of 2011; Hill's a weird case and ended up coming in for 2012, but he'll be gone by the time Fournette comes to campus.

I hear ya, but it would be a colossal coup for Fournette to be anywhere but Baton Rouge next fall at this point.

I see it being very ignorant. You never put all your eggs into one basket for a recruit. Miles apparently hasn't learned his lesson with this yet. You don't recruit to the future...you recruit for needs immediately. If Fournette goes elsewhere LSU is royally screwed all because they cleared the way for him. God forbid something worse happen to the guy like an injury or anything else. You can't predict the future. Next year we'll only have a guy who has major character issues on the team at RB, Magee, a freshman coming off knee surgery and POSSIBLY Fournette.

We'll land him but I still don't think it's smart to put all your eggs in the LF sweepstakes 2 years ahead of time. We're one injury/attrition away from being decimated at RB next year.

My issue with this is we should've had well developed depth by the time LF comes here. Only Magee will be on the roster with experience. Now I know LF is an amazing recruit but who's to say he can pick the college system up fast? Again, I just don't like how sometimes Miles will do this with a recruit. He did it with RP and it screwed LSU for a good 4 years or so. Same with the oline class from 07 I think it was. He didn't recruit well for depth and they scrambled for a few years to get legit guys in the system.

What character issues does Magee have?

I'm talking about Brazil(sp?) not Magee. He might not even be on the team next year considering he's already got in trouble twice. That leaves a freshman coming off injury, LF and Magee. Not exactly strong depth for a position LSU always has depth at.

Of course not. This all in for LF strategy is stupid.

No he's not. I think it's a fair concern. You should never have to do this for any recruit because it could be a detriment to the program in the future. It's not a smart recruiting strategy. I don't care how you look at it. Way too risky.

That being said, I'm sure LF will go off wherever he plays. RB is probably one of the easiest positions to adjust to in college.

and if Miles would have signed a bunch of lesser RBs for depth, you all would be criticizing him for signing too many RBs if LF did not come to LSU

Didn't prevent Bama for staying on LF and them being high on his list with LSU. We should be able to sell ourselves even with depth just as Bama is doing.
