Darlington Nagbe and his prospects as a USMNT player.

Despite living in the States since the age of eleven, Nagbe won't be eligible to represent the Red White and Blue until 2015. My question is, how much value does Nagbe bring to the player pool?
I reckon quite a bit. Speedy, technical, good vision, he's definitely an upper echelon MLS player with enough ability to make it in Europe. It's a shame he can't compete right now, Thanks Obama.

To drum up discussion. Randy, can I get you to post Darlington's FIFA rating relative to like players in our pool?

Well I'm all for anyone that wants to represent our country no matter where they are born. We've had too much talent, like Rossi, that was born here and then turn us down.

2015 isn't too far away. Nagbe probably isn't quite US material anyway, so another year and few months should be perfect for him. I hope we can get him and Fagundez on the U.S. side, as they really are Americans and very talented players as well.
The only US born player I can think of who chose another team is Rossi, fwiw.
Ibisevic is hardly American in any way, same with Najar who can barely speak the language. Subotic and especially Movsisian are moreso, but no one saw Movsisian blowing up in his mid-20s. He was in multiple US camps and cut before the final 23 was announced, and no one batted an eye.

I don't think he'd be a real threat, in any way whatsoever, to make our final 23, I do think he could by 2018.

Agreed. I read an article that said he has turned down multiple Liberian overtures, so that's good to hear. 2018 will be his time to shine, and I think he can be a very nice change of pace player.

Agree. Nagbe is very skilled and I definitely see him with the team then. Can't wait actually

hes all USA, and it sounds like his mom went through hell getting them out of Liberia.
his MLS 36 episode is pretty good. seems like a really nice guy, too nice maybe. i hope he has what it takes to compete internationally.
