Rome Braves are an hour to the north.

Gwinnett Braves are an hour northeast.

Macon Braves are two hours south and east.

Those are minor considerations.

I don't see how the Braves taking their team to the revenue stream could be considered a bad move in the long run as some are painting it.

And here's a map showing the location of 2012 Braves ticket purchasers. This says everything:

Weekday attendance will absolutely skyrocket.

I'm interested to see this plan. Especially for transportation surrounding the stadium.

FWIW I think it's a good idea. Just don't see the minor league team in lawrenceville surviving.

My initial thought is that I don't like like the move. Building new stadiums is incredibly costly and it is either fans or taxpayers who foot the bill.

That being said, I have always thought that the Ted was in a crappy location and it should have been located downtown (near the Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Park, etc).

So I guess it depends on what kind of things will go around the new park. If it is in an accessible entertainment district then I guess the move is okay. Otherwise it is just ridiculous.

I just think they gotta have a Marta stop. Or one hell of a bus system going.

I love downtown ballparks, but the Ted hasn't spurred any development of the surrounding area. It sucks

Probably the best move

Thats fine for me then. I'm not a local ATL and only know from visiting friends a lot. But public transit needs to be a presence around the stadium IMO.

This.

Though I remain skeptical.

Granted, this has the potential to totally frick up my afternoon commutes so I am not unbiased...
