As long as we keep offering 3 stars and Bama stacks the 4 and 5 star talent at every position, we can't compete. Not many teams can compete with Bama. I just hope Florida State is up to the challenge. Go Noles!

need to start offering more of those 5 star type guys. I think that would help out.

yea, I mean sometimes those lower star guys turn out to be good, like Jacob Hestor, but in general I think it is better to recruit the 5 star type players. They are generally bigger, faster, stronger and more talented and that helps. Sometimes those lower star players spend some time in the weight room and can get stronger though so you never really know.

You don't think they offer 5* guys? They just don't come when Alabama also offers. There's no real decision to make there if you want to win a championship. If you want to stay home then you come to LSU.

No, we don't. Go to any of the recruiting sites and go down the lists on the 5-star guys. Very few of them have LSU listed as offering or even of interest. Compare that to Bama and even Auburn, who offer (show interest) in a lot of the 5-star guys. Do not understand that.

For instance, why are we not recruiting the best ILB on Rivals board? RAEKWON MCMILLAN has 7 SEC schools on his list, no LSU. Why not? Why not even try?

I don't think the talent gap is very much at all. On O it's comparable if not better. Similarly on ST's.

On D it appears that way. . But that is due more to Chavis than talent (somebody needs to say it). Our talent on D isn't that bad (they're certainly better at LB). But it sure seems that we haven't improved any significant amount through 10 games.

Look at the O line. I see a talent gap.

Talent gap is not on the field, the talent gap is on the sidelines. That coaching gap use to seem to be like crossing the mississippi now its more like crossing lake pontchartrain

This is pathetic. You guys legitimately believe that we don't recruit, and sign, five stars and that's the issue.

I've seen ignorance, but this is incredible.

chavis likes to recruit the smaller slower players with motors that never stop and are like coaches on the field.

I take the other approach. It is more about coaches workimg with the talent they have. A&M offense has zero 5 star players starting on offense and I am not sure they have a four star. Three star kids work their as off and are much more coachable. TEXAS is loaded with five star players and just struggled go beat a horrible West Virginia team which proves my case.

Yeah, I have no idea why we didn't send an offer to Landon Collins or Cam Robinson.
