All of them except Simon. I think another year of seasoning would have done him good and it's not like he's Collins bad.

All of them except for Wing

They are all early 20s making at least 6 times what most of the mouthbreathers on this board could ever hope to make in a year and two years closer to making seven figures a year.

They all did the right thing.

It's my understanding that he wasn't going to be a Tiger in '13 anyway...

Obviously Montgomery and Wing made bad decisions. Simon couldve used an extra yr. Mingo and Reid were definitely ready.

I've heard the same thing, but since I have no actual knowledge of that likely fact, I tried to be fair to the OP

This is a shortsighted view of things if they didn't get their degree. They will be out of the league in a few years working for some of the mouthbreathers on this board.

We'll know if their decisions were good about 10 years after the fact.

He needs to grow up. guessing he was overweight and not doing what he was supposed to in practice/workouts etc.. How many 3rd round guys get waived their rookie year without being a complete waste. He probably could have gotten in the second round had he stayed, but it's the mental aspect, not the talent and technique.

I met him Friday, he's not overweight unless they expect 5-6% body fat on a DE

He still got paid. If he stays an extra year without putting the work in who knows what happens to his draft stock.

So what?? The league minimum for a few years would make them millionaires. Surely they could put aside a few grand to go back and finish however many credits they are short to get their degrees.

It's still the right decision for all of them IMO.

Anyone that says otherwise doesn't understand the current structure of the rookie wage scale and the importance of getting to the second contract as quickly as possible to maximize their career earning potential.

that's the truth. Could always go back to college if that's what they wanted to do, plenty people got college degrees and a lot of them work crummy jobs, but only a select few get a shot at the NFL.

I was using it as an example, but no way you waive a 3rd guy for just being lousy (not playing good enough for even practice squad).
