so any team that doesnt have saban as their coach is just settling for second best? Because saban is the best coach. You are delusional.

I think LSU is losing ground. Not just on Bama, but are probably closer to Auburn/Ole Miss talent which is a far cry from what weve become used to.

I would actually argue that we are the CLOSEST to to Alabama out of every other of the 116 teams in college football.

Sure, everyone would love to be there.

What is your point? We got there and played like shite and didn't adjust at half and kept getting drummed.

Les didn't make any adjustments last night either. Zero.

I picture Saban grabbing his coaches and coming up with changes. I picture les is back there having a dance contest or something. Bama decided we weren't running the ball anymore and stopped outside passing. Left the middle open but Cameron can't get his qb to throw it over the middle.

Chavis can't even get his team to stop a simple slant route. I mean Jesus. If you give them ten or more yards of cushion every play then they will keep taking advantage of it.

This is what some or many LSU fans do not understand. The problem was before the Alabama game. Georgia is not that great. OM is not a very good team either.

I kind of agree with the OP... it's always something with Les Miles. Such as a 2 or 3 headed horse is leading the defense, a co-OC, or NO OC, "2 yards and a cloud of dust" offense, no offense, run-run-pass, or discipline breakdowns, or ... will LSU ever have a great OL again? A great OL coach?

Last night's game was an exclamation point. But the problem existed before. You could point to the Clemson game last year. You can point to the OM debacle a few years back when the time ran out. He's coasting. He's fine with the 4+ mil.

Seriously... can LSU get a coach for 2 mil to perform as well? I don't know. But the guy is getting paid an awful lot.

Notice I did not say "fire Les Miles", but I'm really, really wondering what next season will bring to LSU. Is the defense going to be stellar? Will the offense improve? Do I feel warm and fuzzy when I ask those questions?

Les has achieved a lot of success but no one can deny that there could/should have been so much more(2006,2010, 2011, 2012, this year)

You need to visit the recuriting sites: Rivals, Scout, 247sports and get a reality check.

LSU has a gigantic recruiting class about to commit this year. I know haters come out after a high profile loss, but are LSU fans really this clueless?

I see Alabama at #1, and LSU out of the top 10. Not sure what you're seeing.

Of course, many SEC fans hope to heaven Les MIles stays at LSU another 20 years, so yeah, I understand where you're coming from.

recruiting rankings can be misleading. I will say that if BAMA lands L.Fournette out of NOLA, that things could get even worse.

I bet there are a lot of SEC coaches with winning records over Les Miles, and I would love if you would list them now. Take your time.

This was all said after 2008. and look what happened. I think Miles will have this team bounce back. But we have to finish strong in recruiting this year to ensure we can at least keep up with bama. Im not worried about any other team rt now because its bama and everyone else in the country. We could stay with any team this year.

Ole miss had one class better than ours, Auburn several. I could argue Aub is more talented than lsu just based on recruting rankings. Gene was a hack, Malzhan was making that team go. But Im not going to sit here and say teams like aub, uf, and uga havent recruited just as good if not better than us. Clemson, ND, Michigan have all had great classes over the past few years. So has USC and Txas. So its not like we are falling off, its been the same really. We average a 9th ranked class under Les.

I think there are 10-15 teams that are equally talented cus the rankings matter, but dont tell the whole story with attrition and what not. Bama and FSU are just slightly above evryone else. That is why it will be so important to keep the majority of the studs here and pick the few around the country to get us back up there.
