yeah when the team has stood together to support an obvious psycho, you have to wonder just how psycho martin was in his own way

EVeryone has been bashing incognito because it has been the PC thing to do. Ridiculous

white guilt IMO. makes you look like a better person when you attack "racism" as a white person.

He still said what he said. If he was nice to him at some point, that's cool. But it doesn't erase the bad shite

What he said is 100% about context... It can be taken either way

it's not like he meant it in the overtly racist manner in which that word is typically used by whites.

I've seen and heard several black people call whites and blacks by the n word, but use it with an A on the end and claim it's a different word. if it's a different word with a different connotation, why is there an outrage when someone uses it?

Yeah because he could have handled this better and now they're out a starting pro bowl OL. And in the playoff race

Then why are current and former teammates rushing to defend him?

It's clearly displayed throughout the league. Those players are equally as ignorant, as well as, equally as arrogant in their state of denial.

Btw, not all former teammates have supported Incognito.

He's been voted the dirtiest player in the league

It wasn't just the racist stuff though. It was the frickiing his sister in the mouth and killing shite though.

As far as why the dolphins are defending him, I think the way Martin handled it sits worse with his teammates than what Richie did. Now if Martin was an all pro, it'd be different. But he quit on his team pretty much, and ran away crying.

I don't think it's a good argument to say "look who they are defending!!!"....it doesn't make what Richie did any better

I just have a hard time vilifying the guy for being a dumbass and making stupid comments. this situation is almost exactly like a pledge quitting a frat because the hazing was too much for him.

if you don't like it, be a man and stand up for yourself, don't quit, run away with your tail between your legs, then go to the media with the story.

And the PC police have arrived to tell those players how they should think...

But a pledge has to go through hazing in order to be initiated. It's not really the same.

If the coaches or incognito wanted to break him down, there are better ways than intimidation and racism

I have known people who are "friends" with people who don't even realize that they are a bully. They see it as "busting their balls", but they don't do it properly, and it comes off as just hateful.

So even if he was "friendly" and "encouraging" some times, he could still be mean-spirited and act like a bully other times.

we aren't talking about geniuses though. these guys bash their heads into D linemen for a living, intimidation is the only thing most of them have.

I just think this situation is more indicative of stupid people than malicious intent.

I think Martin's eccentricities are much less acceptable in the locker room than Incognito's.

I also think Incognito's eccentricities are much less acceptable in 99% of the workplace than Incognito's.

When it comes to hazing in the NFL, you're a rookie until you're 20 games in. Not sure why but that's how it is.
