It isn't hard to understand. What are you confused about?

Rugby is awesome.. How it hasn't achieved mainstream success of ver football astounds me. I am going to guess marketing would be a factor

Watching now, but I just don't understand any of it (even though I'm sure it's fairly simple)

Are the All Blacks the best in the world currently? What relevance is this match? Exhibition? Playoffs ?

Eta: how come the fast black dude isn't playing? Is he too small for this many people on the field at one time?

Eta 2: what stadium are they playing in?

I'm certainly interested as it reminds me of the playground & the old college option football that I liked.

I have heard from Rugby fans that American Football fans would probably like the "Sevens" League a bit more.

To the poster above the All Blacks are on an exhibition tour & they said they were in Philly (?) at PPL park.

Final score: 29-19. Damn good game against a top ten caliber team(All Blacks) & it was a 3 point game down to the wire until the US forced a turnover pressing to win at the end.

Great game!
Glad to see a sale out crowd, in Philadelphia

This is NZ's B-Side team, but still some of the best Rugby Union players in the world.

Cricket is kind of like baseball, except you just run between home plate and first base until you're out (each completed run counts as a point, I believe), and the team's at bat ends at 11 outs. I can't figure out how a player hits the century mark though.

Rugby is the easiest to understand when watching 7 on 7. Since there aren't so many players getting in the way, you can see the strategy better, at least that's how I started to understand it better.

when i tell people about rugby i just tell them anybody can run it, anybody can kick it (at anytime) and anybody can score.
you just cant pass it forward, you have to pass it back

that's rugby 101

The thing that always confused me the most was the way throw-ins were taken.

It's kinda like a jump ball in basketball, but you can lift your man up, for a height advantage

The team the US played last night is the New Zealand Maori. That's their B team.

If the US played the All Blacks it would be like watching Savannah State play Alabama. We'd be totally outclassed.

Ok, that explains it. I was wondering if they just added Maori to their name for PC or something. I was surprised how well the USA performed against them, but did'nt realize it was their B team.
