Miles is a good coach. Unfortunately, Saban's nationwide hegemon is now complete

LSU was his longest holdout.

He finished off Urban Meyer years ago.

LSU battled the hardest and longest against him.

Never before has college football had one such dominant coach over the rest of the nation.

Was LSU his stiffest opposition because he was essentially playing against himself*?

Very soon everyone will get tired of Bama's cheating. Then the investigations start, Bama's fall will be epic.

Sports history will record Saban as the greatest college football coach of all time. He's better than Knute Rockne, Bryant . . . better than all of them.

Yeah- LSU is actually caught in a tough time in SEC history. Saban is a freek of a coach at a school that takes football to a new level.. Don't really think you can compare miles or anyone else to them right now.

Look at the facts.

Does early playing time not weigh on recruits that go to bama? I mean is it possible for any other school to be #1 in recruiting that many times in a row?

I think they are paying them. Have you read the yahoo article?

What about the Refs? In 09 no holding calls the entire season. Ask any player or coach at any level and they will tell you that ....THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE.
Last night by my count 9 non holding calls. If I was wrong about half of those its still ridiculous.

Ofcourse we know saban brings the refs in and pays them to officiate in the off season as much as possible.

The schedule in equality also is very real.

The gumps have people at every level of the system. As long as they control the system and are able to play by different rules. IT won't matter who is our coach or anybody else's

I don't believe it's cheating.

You have an excellent coach who is dedicated to his craft.

He's at an historically successful program.

You have a school supported by a rabid fan base in a state that has nothing going on besides college football. No professional sports, no large cities, no destination spots. Alabama residents live for college football and throw their money at it.

They are the New England patriots, coached by Belichick, without the limitations of a draft or salary cap with money being spent like the Yankees.

It's a recipe for domination plain and simple.

You are dreaming. As long as $abin's buddy Emmert is the boss of the NCAA and Alabama keeps printing money for the SEC, there is absolutely NO way any stink will stick. They are already accomplished cheaters, have nearly unlimited booster money to throw around, and are almost completely bullet-proof right now.

yep you are correct.....they cheat too and have been caught.

Pathetic that their punishment for cheating on a Super Bowl wasn't more severe. But the NFL just wanted that to go away.

they will get sloppy.

Lots of rumors in North Louisiana about a dentist dishing out money as a bama go between.

sooner or later someone will feel spurned and come forward.

Well, then LSU needs to step it up and find some go between's and do whatever it takes to get the players. No program is lily white and the NCAA is in disarray. Plus a lot of that back channel dealing is hard to prove. So, either prove what Bama is doing, or get on board with it to!

if you don't think LSU is guilty of extra benefits, you're blind. all major programs are. it's the nature of the sport

and we have been busted for it a couple of times, just like bama

Well, apparently we aren't doing a good enough job doing it. We need to step it up! It's not the X's and O's it's the Jimmies and Joe's.

If there is an elite prospect in the state of Louisiana LSU wants. A. Find out what it's going to take to get him here. B. Get it to him.

We need to be All In!

Guys I was at the game last night and there is no comparison between the programs ( or any other program) at this time. There was a 92k packed stadium with great grandfathers screaming and shaking the shakers. There was not one empty seat in the stadium until the Lsu fans started to leave.
We took a tour of the athletic complex. The facilities are off the charts and as someone mentioned above- there is nothing else that matters in the state right now. This feeling is shared by the people who have a lot of money. It's been like this for years.
Along comes a brilliant, motivating head coach who can reign in the egos and unify the power brokers and you have a dynasty before your very eyes. It's going to be a race for second place for a while.

You're obviously not old enough to remember the Bear Bryant years.

Also, I don't go back this far (obviously), but I'm pretty sure Rockne's teams dominated the CFB landscape.

And the Wilkinson & Switzer years at Oklahoma, the Johnson years at Miami, etc.
