Going to my first game in Tiger Stadium since Auburn in '88. Yes, the earthquake game.

Guess I'll wait a bit to buy my tickets. I was just now going to spend $ on Stub Hub

If you drop $750 for 2 tix AFTER the Georgia game, you just hate your money .. When are people going to figure out that there isn't a huge demand for aftermarket tickets in Tiger Stadium ?

I figured the tix prices would drop after the OlPiss loss but they holding steady on ebay even still after the loss to Gumpville...apparently there enough idiots still buying to keep the market prices up for now...

re: Welcome To The Texas A&M Tickets Fire Sale !!!!

The more interesting question is when the season ticket fire sale starts? After Johnny Football hangs 50+ on us and people really start looking at the putrid home schedule Verge and Joe are peddling next year? When the stellar class of 2014 Louisiana recruits decide collecting rings is better than promises of early playing time? When people realize that the core of what has finally turned into a decent offense is all going to be playing on Sundays next year?

If I want a hole to throw many thousands of dollars down annually that I only use a few times a year, I'll buy another boat. I'm sure there are zillions of fans, money in hand, waiting to snap up all the tickets that are ditched as well as all the additional seats in the SEZ.

You do hold a very valid point Icansee4miles. There are so many season holders that have had their seasons for years, even through the dark days of LSU football, but I would not be one for that much each year with lackluster play.

We are seeing the first of quiet a few "sucky seasons." IMO of course.

You have a bunch of people that over paid for tix themselves that are now on EBay holding out hope they can get some of their money back .. That's driving a lot of those prices .. But .. with aTm with 2 loses and no shot at the SEC West title now, their travel market has plummeted ..

re: Welcome To The Texas A&M Tickets Fire Sale !!!!

Great points .. Season ticket sales will drop next season . There's a small core of hardcore fans that go to all the games and could care less if they piss money away .. The larger core of season tix holders are the ones that only go to big games and, after about 5 years, have finally realized the TAF fees are money down the toilet .. These fans have finally realized that the LOSE $500+ on the Furman games .. That core is about to say "frick it" ..

The timing of the stadium expansion is awful .. TAF will put pressure on Miles in the off season .. Two years in a row of non-January bowl games ain't gonna cut it ..

re: Welcome To The Texas A&M Tickets Fire Sale !!!!

TigahrAg,
We get it. You don't have tickets and you'll buy them cheap on game day. Good for you. Congrats, you're a financial genius. We also get you're cheap and won't buy season tickets. Good thing for LSU, there is still a wait list.

Your posting on this site is annoying. You're more Ag than Tigah. You don't influence market price as much as you would like to think you do. Fact of the matter is Ags will still want to make this game and you have a Heisman trophy winner playing in Tiger stadium. Some people expected LSU and A&M to be better. Buying tickets at a "high" price earlier is like buying futures.

I've never sold tickets above face out of principal. Normally I give them to friends as a courtesy. Am I upset I lose money? No. But a few hundred dollars isn't going to bust my budget. If you can't afford to lose a few hundred dollars, maybe you shouldn't buy tickets anyway and consider putting the money into a savings account. If people simply want to get their ticket cost recouped, that's fair. If they want to sell a pair of tickets to the premium game to help cover the costs of crappy games, good for them as well.

Who the hell are you?

If you can't make every game, there's no point in having season tickets.. it doesn't make you cheap.

No...No they are not.

My SEZ "core" has been essentially the same since my dad brought me for the first time in the late 80's. Many of the faces have changed, but the last names, for the most part, have not. I may go a season or two without seeing them. They may sell most of their tickets in any given year. But they will not sell the rights to their season tickets.

The monetary investment is secondary. Assuring my two kids have seats when they are old enough to attend games, and have the same awesome memories that I had as a kid, is much more of my focus than the occasional 4 loss year. I grew up watching arse kickings from Spurrier and perrenial mediocrity...and they are still some of the best memories I have. Hell, the beatdown we received in a typhoon when FSU came to Tiger Stadium is still a great memory. To most with season tickets for a long time, the win-loss record plays only a tiny factor in renewing every year.

LSU existed, and filled the stadium just fine, prior to 1999. They will continue to do so.

Though I do agree that the expansion is bad timing.

ETA: BTW... I got $350 a piece for my A&M tickets
