An annoying thing about American politics

Whenever some issue or policy question arises, everyone gets so absolute and ideological. I'm using the SNAP cuts as an example in this post. Every damn article I have read about them use images of poor people, disabled people, or families that are doing things the honest way being affected. Liberals are using this story to paint the picture that everyone on food stamps is an honest victim. I'm tired of it.

We will never have safety net reforms in this nation if the liberals continue to trot out these isolated sob stories and treat them like the norm.

Conservatives do the same thing with other issues, but it is most exemplified with libs when safety net cuts are on the agenda.

Do not believe them!

Populaces are much easier to move with emotion than rationality.

You should read some Bernays. At least you'll learn where it comes from

Well, how else do you expect them to buy votes?

It's funny, though. A huge talking point by democrats is that they are the rational party.

I know. But thats part of public relations programming.

In the 50s everyone thought it was perfectly fine to smoke. After all, smart people... Doctors! Said it was ok! That was Bernays.

You can see similar authority arguments today with AGW... People with no knowledge of the mechanics will go to the mat arguing it because a cabal of "scientists" say it is so. Bernays techniques live.

I think it comes back to an affinity for authority. Makes them very easy to manipulate.

We're just getting into to the sob story season. Thanksgiving and Xmas. The stories are already out there about Food Banks going dry and people starving to death.

I'll never forget a caller to a local radio show on KEEL, hosted by Frank May, who was then the extreme left wing editor of the Shreveport Times.
BTW, the new editor is also extremely left wing. No surprise.

Frank May: "If you're a 1st time caller, the Shreveport Times will donate $5 to the Joy Fund to buy Christmas presents for the underprivileged.
Our next caller is Bob. Hello, Bob."

Bob: "Frank, I'll donate $100 to the Joy Fund if the Shreveport Times will match it."

Frank: "Uh, mmmmm, uh, no, sorry, Bob, but I'm not authorized to do that."

Liberals are great with other people's money.

Liberals rarely put their money where their mouth is. If you look at states who give the least to charity, they all are heavily libtard.
