Yes we know LSU/Bama is tomorrow, but for those who are unable to simultaneous take an interest in two sports AT THE SAME TIME, LSU's baskeball season starts Tuesday (bright and early) @ 10:00 am! Due to the fact that the Rant will be consumed Monday with either euphoria after tomorrow's big win, or laments that the LSU football program is headed to Grambling-level dysfunction, it's time to go on record with your B-Ball predictions today.

Give us your:

2013-2014 record (Overall & SEC)
SEC place of finish
Postseason tournament prediction/finish
1 or 2 Misc. predictions

Mine:

23-7 (13-5)
T3rd (with Tenn.) - LSU holds the tiebreaker
NCAAT #6 seed (due to weak OOC sched) - We all bitch about it
LSU beats the #11, but loses a heartbreaker to the #3 due to poor FT shooting late

Stringer leads the SEC in 3pt shooting %
J. Mickey makes all SEC freshman team

I think this happens as well. He just won't be polished enough at the 3 to be a 1st rounder. JOBIII is the only person to leave early

I am sipping the koolaid HARD after our "scrimmage" against Xavier. We've always beat the shite out of crap teams, but the talent disparity was very evident on Wednesday night.

We have SIX really good basketball players. Players who can compete at a high level in the SEC. Our bench isn't too shabby either.

Record:
24-6 (14-4)
2nd Place
NCAA 4 seed
Elite 8

JOB3 all-SEC 1st team (averages 15 points, 10 boards)
Mickey all-SEC 2nd team (top 5 in SEC in blocks)

23-7 (12-6)
4th in SEC
Make NCAA Tourny as 8/9, lose to #1 seed.

Hickey still leads SEC in steals.

JOB and Julius Randle lead SEC in double/doubles.

JOB gets drafted as low 1st/high 2nd.

LSU's conference losses to UK, @UK, @UF, @Arky, and either @Bama/@Ole Miss. UT will also be tough but I think we match up well with them.

22-8(12-6)
T3rd in SEC
Make it to the SEC championship and lose.
Make the tourney as a 7 seed and lose in the sweet 16.

Martin (I think he'll come on strong) and Mickey both make all Freshman SEC
JOBIII makes 1st team all SEC again
The PMAC sells out for at least 2 games (one of which being Kentucky)

Same here, but I really wish the game was in the evening. Still good to be a part of the tip-off marathon though.

LSU finishes 4th
LSU #5 seed and makes it to sweet 16 and loses a heartbreaker to a #1 seed.
LSU will beat St. Joes and Memphis @ the Old Spice Classic.
LSU will be 16-2 when #1 Kentucky comes to town and LSU will pull the upset. This game will be on national television and this will be our message to the country, that LSU basketball has awoken and will be a force to reckon with. Be ready!

Already planning a road trip to Tuscaloosa in January. Team has me hyped.

I love that Shortess isn't afraid to pull the trigger like some other walkons we have had but I'd be shocked to see him score 10 in a game.

That said, I think we go 12-6 in SEC play. Go into the tourny as an 8/9 seed and win a game.

I'd like to see us improve from the FT and limit our fouls, though I think they tightened it up against Xavier so we wouldn't win 120-30.

I think we upset Kentucky at home

I wanted to make this prediction very badly, but stepped off because I don't think I've seen enough of our guys.

Same here.

The UK game at home may be one of the biggest games LSU has played in 5 years... Will be epic. Cannot wait. If that doesn't sell out, then we might as well give up.
