Why was he so quick to bench Lee, but never benched an obviously under performing QB in JJ just to TRY something?

I can say it again, but I can't understand it for you. With the way Alabama was playing, we didn't have a quarterback on the roster to win that game. JJ was the best option we had. Miles was hoping (yes, hoping) that something would break our way with a big play or turnover to gain momentum.

Could he have tried Lee? Sure. that may have alleviated some of the backlash from fans like you. But, he was playing with the cards that were dealt and he was playing his best hand (yes, JJ). But the cards were not good enough on that day.

i think miles to bowden is a fair comparison.

those who compare him to fulmer and even more so the ones that compare him to coker are just trolling.

All because of a few close losses each year people think he is an idiot.

nah, 8 games he should have won is more like it. I laid it all out before. not too mention not so great gameday coaching, management, OTFD, or preparation.

But i am sure you left that out on purpose huh?

oh and did I mention him quitting on his team on 1-9?

Instead, Miles is not held up and compared to Nick Saban while at LSU. He's compared to this non-existent Saban at LSU based on the misconceptions LSU fans have that had Saban stayed at LSU he'd have had the same success he's currently having at BAMA. All this despite the fact that Saban's teams only lost less than 3 games a season one time. All this despite the fact that we all know BAMA exists in an entirely different SEC than we do. An SEC with favorable schedules, that gets do-overs, that has the conference office set up in its home state, etc. We seem to forget that simply being "Nick Saban" was not enough to get the SEC to even pay attention to his bitching about having to play the Friday after Thanksgiving. We also seem to forget that once BAMA's coach, the minute they switched the Iron Bowl to that day, he bitched and it immediately was moved back and LSU was thrown onto Friday again.

Goddamn it is great to see another tiger fan that doesn't have his head up his arse.

The double standard between Miles and BamaSaban is unreal.

I've said it here a million times: When Saban had to meet the LSU standard, he struggled. When Saban's teams at Bama have to play more than two ranked teams a year, they lose. They ALWAYS do.

Saban has had only ONE regular season at Bama where he had an "LSU schedule". That was 2010. How did that turn out?

Let's not forget this as well:

In 2003, when Saban won his only title at LSU, there was a coach on the west coast that the media informed us was better, and deserved Saban/LSU's title even though they didn't play in the game.

Think this would happen to BamaSaban? Nope. Instead, for BamaSaban, it is the exact opposite: when he fails, he gets propped up with mulligans, easy schedules, officiating favoritism, and media love...

What is the difference there for Saban? Yup. All in the name.

I think it's usually a bad idea for a guy without a college education to call a guy with a master's degree from Michigan an idiot.

Well, then we disagree. Lee was a turnover waiting to happen. The lights were too big for him in that game; he was shell shocked. Miles made the right call. I don't think we beat Alabama with Lee at quarterback during the regular season and we have one less SEC championship for it.

We won't know if that was the right call me "god"! The only way to know is to take jj's sorry a.s.s out bc the lights were obviously to bright for him. But hey keep sucking that d.i.c.k bro

So if Miles were to be hired in 2000, do you believe he would be as successful as he is today? I would say no. Here is the deal sunshine. When you get handed the keys to the fastest latest greatest car, you're gonna win most races. You're acting as if Nick Saban wouldn't do the same thing and you're right. He would do more! Les Miles didn't build anything here bro, it was built. Bobby Bowden started from scratch and built FSU from the ground up. Eventually after he got up in age, FSU fell off a little, but that happens. So please don't insult Bobby Bowden by comparing him and CLM. arse clown

I agree 1000% of the above statements.

I've simply pointed out that while at LSU he was human. He made mistakes. His teams stumbled, etc

You hit the nail flush. Nick was great for LSU and 03 was a wonderful season, but he wasn't God's gift to college football while he was at LSU and neither was LSU.

The NS that was at LSU and the NS now at Bama are two different animals...for whatever the reason.

I think he really compares with Fulmer. Not Coker. Fulmer had one NC and a bunch of solid 10+ win seasons but always seemed second fiddle to Spurrier and Florida.

I'm a pretty big Tiger fan, but "fastest latest greatest car" is a tad of a reach in describing LSU football of 02, 03, and 04.

He gave him the best string of recruiting classes a coach could ask for! That recruiting class of 03' ya look at what they did. I will stand by my statement sir. Les came to a solid program, Bowden built one.

Miles is a good coach and good person, but he is nowhere close to being as good as Bobby Bowden as a coach or person. Get a grip!! There is no comparison, and even mentioning them in the same sentence is an insult to BB. Meanwhile, the house that BB built is #2 in the nation (should be #1) after crushing two top 10 teams Clemson and Miami. LSU has lost to 1 top 10 team and 1 unranked team.

nah, its not that. Its when he opens his mouth he confirms that he is, in fact, not the sharpest knife. I like when he does funny post-game interviews and makes us forget that he just botched a game LSU should have won though!

Les Miles is far smarter than you could ever hope to be, son.
