There were years that the Saints never played on MNF.

I am sure most people could predict a game better than Tampa/Miami. It is not just this week. Usually they are not big time matchups.

Because the NFL owns sunday ticket and the NFL network, but not ESPN

I'll watch the two shittiest teams in the league play, because it's football, and what else am I going to do on a Monday night?

I 'think' they are going to a flex schedule in the next year or so.. ESPN will pick the game a couple weeks in advance, like college fb.

NBC, CBS and Fox have a higher priority to pick their games each week so ESPN actually doesn't have a ton to pick from under the current TV deals.

(Selections made preseason of course)

tampa shouldve been atleast competitive this year, and miami was the biggest story in the league in free agency. it shouldnt have been the trainwreck that those two front offices have allowed it to become.

That statement might make sense if there were ever any Thursday night games worth anything. Thursday night games are the WORST.

In the 80's and 90's (probably 60's and 70's too, but I don't know) the NFL seemed to only put teams on Monday Night football that where really good the year before. But now we live in an "everyone gets prizes" society so they schedule shitty teams for prime time games so they get exposure too. This is part of what started the whole Dallas is "America's Team" BS, they were on prime time a lot because they were good, because they were on prime time a lot they picked up more and more fans across the country.

I like it. I want the good games on Sunday and better-than-nothing games on Monday night.
