That night is etched in my memory for the rest of my life. I will never forget it as long as I live.
Playing and watching sports my whole life, I have only cried twice. The Gleason block and score, that release of pent up emotion for what we had all been through, our team being back, crushing the Falcons, everything just came out. The second time was when Porter picked off Manning in the Super Bowl. I immediately thought of both of my deceased grandfathers who were season ticket holders and die hard Saints fans through the nuclear winter of our previous existence. I just couldn't help myself.
I have been to hundreds of games. High school, college, NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA. I have never been to a game that had that kind of electricity. Death Valley on Saturday night against Bama is loud, but this is a different level. A completely different level.

Pretty cool to see how well renowned that game is around the league and how it was so impactful on the game of football in general
And it still didn't make their Top 10 - Most Emotional Games list. I wasted 45 mins of my life waiting for that game to pop up and it never did.

I suspect that was because a lot of people, myself included, were too emotional to scream when the ball went through the uprights.
I didn't know I could hold my breath for that long.

That night was so much more than football. It was confirmation for all of us that New Orleans could and would come back. It was a release from the pain and turmoil of the past year, that somehow, someway we'd be ok, that in the face of extreme adversity, we could pick ourselves up and kick arse, that the Saints did come back. Then the football game started, then "The Play." Then the Party was on New Orleans style!

THE Night!
Thanks for that link
Does anyone know where to get a copy of the game? It was the best game I had ever seen up till that point and was so damn emotional. I would love to watch it again.

Man that play was awesome, Steve has done so much for so many...just little things like I was running a 5k for a friend raising money for Team Gleason and I am out of shape and haven't run a 5 k in 7 years but with a mile to go I thought I was going to pass out but I'll I could think about was how Gleason would do anything to be able to finish this. Just incredible what that play and the chain reaction it has set through the country.

How fitting that Morten Andersen scored the Failcons first points that night.

If your computer has a DVD burner, then you can easily rip the DVD to your hard drive and then make DVD's. I would be happy to send you some money for it man
Let me know
