Former SS Agent, outing Obama and Running for Congress

quote:

But according to one of President Obama’s former body guards it’s much worse than we can even imagine.

Dan Bongino has protected numerous Presidents over his career, including President Obama. He has been within ear-shot of many a discussion in the Oval Office, but up until this administration has stayed out of the lime light. Apparently, however, the activities of this administration are so abhorrent that he could no longer keep quiet.
Bongino is so upset with what he witnessed that he is now running for Congress because he feels it’s the only way to take America back from the sycophants who have made every effort to enrich themselves with money and power at the expense of the American people.

quote:

How bad is it?

We’re in a lot of trouble.

The President sees government – and I think it’s because of his lack of experience and maybe community organizing in the past – as this shiny new toy.

For all the disagreements I had with Clinton, Carter and Bush there were always limits… there was that line you just didn’t cross… We cross it seemingly every day. We’re lost in the scandals…
The Jamie Dimon shakedown at Chase… the HHS scandal.. Kathleen Sebelius shaking down the health care industry for money… the IRS… it’s to the point where these scandals in and of themselves would be huge back-breaking scandals [but] are just lost in the scandal fog of this administration…

It’s worse than people know… and I’m not trying to scare you either.

This is coming from someone who has stood next to Presidents for his entire career.

The implications are absolutely terrifying, especially considering how bad the publicly known scandals already are. Can you imagine what’s happening outside the view of Americans?

None of this surprises me (same goes for many on this board).

The Amateur isn't just a catchy title for a book. We elected a literal amateur who has surrounded himself with nothing but like-minded idealists.

btw, I'm kind of mixed on this. If you were sworn to keep your mouth shut, you do. However if there is some illegalities going on, you should speak up.

I find it odd though that he isn't simply going Whistle blower route, but using it as ammo to run for office.

Watched it; not as revealing as I'd hoped.

Same here, but if this is truly how he feels...

Then I would say "go for it"

As long as he is leaning forward and speaking truth to power

But I don't see how being in Congress is going do do anything more than him being a Whistle blower and going before committees/news to expose what he thinks is illegal

I don't doubt there are shady things going on, but seems like he is talking up all of this shite for a campaign.

My cynical side tells me the same thing.

Maybe he's hoping congress is just a start? However, I'm sure hundreds of rosy-eyed freshmen congressmen have gone to D.C. thinking they can change the culture only to be seduced and corrupted like everyone else.

All those stories about SS agents shuttling in "hos" for Billy Jeff seem like quaint memories now.

Slippery slope. It is one thing to share information that makes an administration look bad, it is another thing to share information pointing out incompetence or illegalities.

Which sort of naturally brings his credibility on the matter into question

I agree, although I don't doubt what he says. You can see and smell the mess from here.

The problem with his approach is that if things are as bad as he says, you exhaust every route of calling for accountability first. If that fails, then you take it to the American people directly. Running for Congress is a by-product of that kind of patriotism. The scandals of the Obama Administration, if you are privy to them in your role as a Secret Service Agent, should not be your platform to run for Congress. There is a real conflict of interest there, plus questions about your oath and your own integrity.

He could be totally truthful and I would really question him based on is approach.

Merriam-Webster definition of "numerous" = "consisting of great numbers of units or individuals"

Bongino was on protective detail from 2006 through May of 2011 when he left the SS.

So it's Obama and Bush, and if he was TDY on presidential details before being assigned to the full-time detail, add an occasional Clinton assignment in 2000.

Methinks the author took liberties with the English language on this one.
