I'm in a league with a few coworkers and the guy who owned Shane Vereen got canned and stopped setting his lineup. The commmish sets the guy's lineup every week with the highest projected points. On Friday of last week, the commish dropped Vereen and added a WR to get a full starting lineup for the guy's team who got canned. When Vereen was dropped, he became a FA and was picked up on Friday night, he didn't go to waivers. Is Vereen not going on waivers due to the way the league waivers was set up by the commish or was it because the commish dropped the player from another guy's team? Or is it because players who are on IR are not active so they don't have to clear waivers?

..not a commish this year in any yahoo league so can't get into the settings..

Hmm that's pretty specific. I'd assume he's dropped by commish so he doesn't follow waiver rules. Probably didn't count as an official transaction by that team.

I'd imagine that it is about one of these two and I'm assuming the second one if every other dropped player went to waivers

I'm guessing this. Should be reversed and have Vereen go through waivers IMO.

Did the guy who owned Vereen first just add him to his team or had he been stashing him for awhile?

By just add him I mean did he own him for say 24 hours before releasing him for the WR?

vereen likely went thorough waivers unnoticed. its only a 2-3 day period.

He was on his roster all year until Friday.

I was the guy who added Vereen. I thought I was putting in a waiver request for him and when I hit submit it added him to my roster. I also have the #1 waiver priority right now so I'd be fine with what you're saying IF I can also add any FA to my team to replace Vereen since all players who are FAs now were FAs on Friday afternoon.

Did the commish who dropped him from that team pick him up for his own team? If not, should've been more alert. Early bird gets the vereen

My take is that commissioner manipulations are adjustments, and not wire transactions.

I thought that too but it doesn't show up where the commissioner's adjustments show up it's right there with all of the regular transactions.

I would say that it was because he's on IR then.

You cannot be a commish and do something fishy without the whole league seeing it. Everything they do is published publicly and cannot be deleted
