Okay, no loss is acceptable and will suck regardless. But I think we can all agree that Alabama is a great team (maybe the best in the country), that has won 2 straight national titles and playing at HOME. Therefore, LSU could come in well coached, well prepared, play hard and well and still lose right? Common sense suggests that if LSU plays Bama close and beats the spread, it will really suck, but we'd tip our hat to the team and coaching staff. But I suspect that anything aside from getting screwed by the refs will result in a meltdown blaming the coaches. In fact, I bet its almost worse if we come oh so close but empty handed. Last year we outplayed Bama when they were heavily favored - and a meltdown ensued.

So what would a "loss" look like that wasn't the coaches fault? Would we take an early lead and fail to hold off a comeback that culminated on the final drive? A comeback on our part that ended in an interception into the endzone. Lots of wild chances that didn't work? A game we dominated statistically but lost the turnover battle? Would it be high scoring (44-41) or low scoring (13-10). Just wondering before it happened.

Did you even read the post? So its impossible to play well and be well coached and lose a game to the #1 team in the nation on the road?

Tigers don't accept defeat ... esp. before the game is played! I say, "Let's kick their arse!"

I could live with a game in which they get ahead by 2 TDs and we struggle a bit but make a valiant comeback and come up a little short...but play hard for 60 minutes!!!!!!

All our players and coaches suffer from food poisoning after an Alabama fan tampers with the team food. 11 posters from the rant are called upon to play both sides of the ball with unkownknight as the coach. They lose on a last second field goal.

I look forward to your BCS breakdowns after LSU jumps back into the thick of it after this Saturday's upset.

I almost started one in-game of the first half of Furman game on the scoreboard for fun but would have feared for my life.

According to the rant, yes. Even if the team plays well the entire game, marches down the field down four points in the final seconds, and then a wide open receiver drops the ball in the endzone...

it will still be Miles' fault. We should have run the ball, he should have recruited someone better, should have left time on the clock for another shot, etc.

I would surmise that most on here (judging by posts) would be quite happy if you - while losing - lost but put in a great effort and showed that the talent disparity wasn't drastic - sort of like your loss last year.

But if you pull a 1/9...

Where it looks like Bama is in another class again...then you will resigned. Which is worse than being angry at losing a close game.

Missed assignments (something the D has been taught all off season and into the season) would be unacceptable. I have a feeling Amari is going to have a big game and Saban knows that is a weak spot for us so he'll take advantage. Time for Mills and Collins to step up!

As long as LSU plays like they give a damn -- which they haven't done for almost a month, now -- I will be happy no matter the outcome UNLESS the refs take it away from us, which is a valid concern what with the history and circumstances of this game.
