Last night's WWL Channel 4 in NOLA sports segment quoted Miles as saying "I have had no problem getting the team motivated to play Alabama-I could not get the team motivated to play Furman, but I guarantee you that is not a problem this week".

If even the players cannot get motivated about playing Furman, with the coaches trying to get them fired up, why the F are we scheduling teams like this????!!!!

I'm sorry but as long as college football powerhouse LSU co tinted to schedule games against junior high schools, I will continue to biatch.

it's just part of scheduling. You can't play that Oregon, West Virginia, etc schedule we had in 2011 every year.

Do you really think the OP doesn't realize that? Why defend it when you know it is crap? The team couldn't get motivated to play. That says it all.

we play a shite load of tough games every year, too many imo if 2 L's out of 12 knock you out of the season.

if an unmotivated team can win 48-16 i don't see a problem with it.

The problem isn't the schedule, it's something else.

Ohio State, Texas A&M, and Alabama are fired up for every one of their cupcake games. Just so happens that 10 of their games each are against Furman caliber teams.

Seems like LSU is well prepared for the opener and a couple of big SEC games each year. The remaining games are marred with lethargic, uninspired play sporadically throughout the game.

Well this isn't good to hear.

I think that's one way Saban distinguishes himself. His face turns red and he screams on the sidelines even late in the 4th with his team up big. Most of us think of him as an arse for it but he gets his guy's attention.

EXACTLY.......yet as season ticket holders we get charged the same damn price for these shite teams. Next year, I guess we will only get up for 2 of the home games.

It's worse than the damn NFL and preseason, at least there you get 8 premium games. Not sure how this would work, but the NCAA needs to step in and condense Division 1 to about 60 or so schools and only allow teams playing for the championship only 1 game against teams outside of that. I know the ankle biting schools will bitch, but I'm sure some of the increased revenue can be thrown their way to shut them up.

An Ole Miss friend of mine has long pointed out that it seems (from the outside) as though LSU forgets they are good at different points within games and seasons under Miles.

He pointed this out again after the Ole Miss game this year...he said he was glad that LSU forget they were good long enough for Ole Miss to get a 17-0 lead this year.

Would you rather be like Arkansas and schedule games where you won't be favored for Homecoming?

One of my kids could produce that result and it would only cost a bag of skittles and a McDonald's toy.

Apparently they weren't motivated to play Ole Miss, either. If you can't get motivated to play one of your most historic, most hated, SECW rivals, then there's a problem.
