So they are 17th in the BCS as of today. Do people think they are where they belong? Too high? Too low?

In most years, the best statistical defense in the country with a loss to a ranked team would probably put them higher. Is there a reason why A&M is ahead of them? A&M is the opposite of Sparty, with a great offense and an inconsistant D.

If I was voting and controlled, I'd probably have them in the 10-12 range. I don't know when you substitute winning for losing to good teams, but I think 7-1 is greater than 6-2 most of the time

SpartyGator, how do you like those rankings?

The B1G is terrible. They're where they're supposed to be.

Yes. A&M would massacre Sparty.

Based on Media perception? I mean Michigan doesn't have Evans, but they do have a guy who had over 300 yards in a game just a few weeks ago, and he got shut down.

Michigan was averaging 40 PPG on the season and Sparty held them to 6.

I guess we will likely get to see Sparty vs one of Auburn/LSU/A&M/Georgia though in the bowl game

Miami is ahead of them but would lose to them imo.

The perception is not unwarranted.

In 2010, Sparty won the Big 10 (tied), had one of the best defenses in the country, and only lost 1 game all season (on the road to a ranked team) and then went to a bowl game and got beat 49-7 by a 3-loss SEC team.

I know Buckeye fans love to obfuscate, but the plain and simple fact is the Big 10 is a bad conference.

The big 10 sucks. But as an Ohio State fan, I dont expect you to understand that

As a Buckeye fan, I can see why you are worried about this

But yeah, they are a touch too low and have been playing very well lately. Wisco and Sparty are underrated due to the poor perceptions of the Big 10.

Doesn't matter one bit where MSU is ranked. OSU only gets into the game if 2 teams lose.

I was just thinking when I looked at the polls they should be 5 spots or so higher

I thought Wisconsin was underrated a bit ago. I no longer feel that way.

Well maybe, but a lot can happen still - a good resume is good regardless.

If I'm a tOSU fan, I want Sparty to get more respect... you just never know.

And to answer the original question, yes, Sparty and Wisconsin are good teams that would give the SEC (other than Bama) all they could handle.

I highly doubt any Ohio State poster on here would argue that.

ding ding ding.

only reason why Buckeye's care about Sparty's rank is because they hope it'll give them a final boost in the polls if they face each other in the BIG10 title. But it won't, because it's still.......BIG10 football.

I at you for being ignorant.

Vegas ranks Wisco as top 10 team, so yeah they could hang with the 2nd tier of the SEC.
