To me, he has only done alot of "annoying" things like parking, etc. I could make a list but want this thread to be about the good things he had done-please explain because I don't see them? Thanks

He's got one of those thankless jobs. No one notices when he doesn't something good like expand TS or hiring Johnny Jones but he gets blasted for raising prices for parking.

He deserves more praise and less speculation. JMO and yes I am a season ticket holder.

Which is why the Fire Miles brigade should tread lightly.

The old LSU community demanded CJJ. Leftto Aleva he wouldn't have even been interviewed IMO.

it's not the matter of having to pay for parking, but the entire totally screwed up traffic situation to get to campus...even if you are willing to pay the $40- you have to get to campus at least 4 hours before kickoff to be allowed in

for a night game, this isn't a problem...but for a 2:30 kickoff, all you're asking for is chaos

Maintained a top football program
Maintained a top baseball program
Hired Johnny Jones
Raised a ton of money
Made dynamite hires at the mid-major level
renovated the exterior of tiger stadium
upgraded mid-major facilities that were seriously neglected

Looks like more than what Skip Bertman ever accomplished here

They just hired a firm to assess the situation and are looking to fix the problem by next season. Gainesville and Oxford have far worse traffic, for the record.

It's insane people blame Alleva for Baton Rouge's atrocious infrastructure

Who's responsible for the band going to shite? Just a serious question. Seems like the admins decided there should be less importance/emphasis placed on the band to save money or something

Looks like a good hire, but the jury is still out on him. Let's see how he pans out before we praise Alleva for hiring him.

Alleva gets most of his flack because many don't see him as being "an LSU guy." The search that brought him to BR was a sham, and I'd be willing to bet that Duke was very happy that we took him off their hands after the lacrosse scandal where he not only embarrassed himself but the university. He's done some good things at LSU, but he still comes across as kind of a wimp, and our fans don't think that he really stands up for LSU against the rest of the SEC.

Last I checked, LSU was running a huge surplus from its athletics. Top 5 in the country.

Football, Baseball, and Track are amongst the best programs in the country year in year out. The hiring of Johnny Jones will probably have hoops up in that range pretty soon as well.

Not sure any other schools can match our strength in the major sports, sure Stanford and such schools win the all sports trophy most of the time, but they do it by winning water polo and synchronized swimming titles and such.

Very few, if any, programs can match LSU in the major sport programs.

Florida and Texas can, to name a few.

That was a great hire on paper at the time...

If Alleva really sucked, then he would have just kept sticking with him, but he did not.

At the time that seemed like a fantastic hiring. No one knew that he would be such a terrible recruiter and not be willing to embrace the people behind the program.
