Cubs just interviewed him yesterday. Was hoping they would hire him.

I'd really like to replace my Astros fan card with a Tigers one

Ausmus, Matheney and Matt Williams are managers now...I'm getting old

It was weird enough seeing Girardi work his way up. This is just surreal.

Not sure about all the former managers without any coaching experience, but we'll see.
Don't think MLB managers are as important as other professional coaches.

Brad Ausmus is damn near a genius though
he's an Ivy league, Dartmouth graduate!

Really wanted to see him managing the Stros one day, always seemed to have a great knowledge of the game.
Was atrocious at the plate sometimes but watching him send the 18 inning NLDS clincher vs the Braves into extra innings made up for it

That was a hell of game...Ausmus HR off the brick wall in left center and then Adam Everett sealing the deal in the 18th

Was sitting on the first baseline. I can remember my dad bitching about subbing Chris Burke for Lance Berkman

Everett, another subpar hitter that won me over those playoffs

were you also there for the Jeff Kent home run? I literally spilled nearly a full beer in the Crawford Boxes during that and no one gave a damn

You know, I thought the same thing, but then I remembered, women found him attractive, he was an Ivy Leauger, and he handled the pitchers meetings prior to a series.
Then I realized, no way this guy can succeed as a head coach.
Relax!
