Are a majority of you guys going to then root for Oregon/FSU/OSU/Baylor etc. to make the championship and end the SEC's title streak or continue to hope the field blows it like normal so Bama can back themselves into another championship thanks to other's pitfalls.

I for one want a FSU/Oregon championship although I am as diehard of an SEC fan as you can find, i think it would be an incredible championship and I wouldn't be able to see Saban hoist another championship

Anyone who would prefer Bama to back in to the title game to keep the SEC streak alive is not an LSU fan.

What's this supposed to mean?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we beat Bama and then literally every team in front of them magically loses, propelling Bama back to the top and in another NCG.

You mean as in when Bama plays by the same rules as every other team and still ends up with the trophy?

You do realize that the last two teams standing for the BCS championship game are both the beneficiaries of the faults of all the other teams that come up just short, don't you?

And if you want to talk "magic," may I introduce you to the 2007 BCS Champion LSU Tigers. Losers to both Kentucky and Arkansas, the latter in the final game of the season.

In 2007, LSU took advantage of the same "magic" you and the OP whine about, and benefited from a rash of upsets of contending teams the last couple weeks of the season. I'm not going to research this, but isn't the 2007 LSU the only two-loss BCS Champion? Would you care to give that BCS trophy back because of too much "magic." I wouldn't. I was proud of LSU for winning that crystal and still am.

Bama consistently wins because they are consistently better - maybe not a lot better but still better. Will they win it every year? No, not realistic. But under Saban they will contend every year.

The amount of envy and butthurt on this site by people trying to diminish Bama's accomplishments is astonishing.

The second part of the sentence you left off was crucial.

I wouldn't be surprised if they still got in the NCG even if we beat them.

Congratulations for writing all of this but it wasn't necessary.

I'll be the first to tell you we got lucky in 2007. It's not whining as much it is telling the truth. The Iowa State game in 11, Oregon and KSU going down the same weekend last year.

OP was just asking if we were gonna root for the undefeateds to stay undefeated so Bama doesn't end up back in the big game due to other teams going down. I'll try to use a word different than "backdoor" next time since you seem to think it carries an envious or butthurt connotation even though that's exactly what it is. Even when it happens to LSU.

Not pulling for Bama or any other teams in the SEC. If we don't make it, I hope Fresno St plays Tulane!

Well maybe not that, but my loyalty lies with God, Wife, kids, 2nd amendment, Then LSU!

Thank you. I come from a different time and am not a fan of Twitter talk.

Wouldn't bother me at all if Bama loses to LSU and still makes the BCS title game. And for Bama to make it to the title game, they'd still have to beat Auburn and win the SEC Championship so that doesn't seem like much of a "backdoor" entry.

Bama making the BCS game with a loss is just like LSU making it with two losses in 2007 - a public recognition of how tough the SEC is.

It wouldn't bother you if our divisional rival who comes to this state and tries to take the top recruits wins 4 of the last 5 championships?

Welp, I should have checked your post history. Your first page alone tells it all.

quote:

Soooo jealous of Saban. So jealous it hurts you. ...

quote:

As for Saban leaving LSU, he did nothing that any professional doesn't do when they want to continue to climb the career ladder. He wanted to test his skills in the NFL. That desire wasn't a secret when he came to LSU and it shouldn't have been a surprise when he left.

And on Miles

quote:

The reputation that Miles earned during his time at Michigan, Colorado, Dallas and Oklahoma State does not support this. Not at all. Not personally or professionally.

quote:

Agree completely. He inherited a great situation that Saban was building and - despite inexplicable coaching decisions - has kept the program at its highest level ever. We're living in the best era of LSU football ever. But no pro teams are looking at him and no top-tier college teams would either at this time. He's about to be 60 and his national reputation as a goofball is solid. Fine if LSU wants to reward him for performance, but I wish we'd stop thinking that he's a hot commodity who has lots of options to leave.

It all makes sense now. Saban took his suitcase along with your heart when he left Baton Rouge. I bet you'll be so proud when you see him hoist another crystal ball in Pasadena.

Oh, I'd be surprised too if we won.

But it would be just our luck that we play out of our minds and win, just for everyone above them to fall like dominoes making it 2 times in a row that a W in Tuscaloosa is meaningless.

I don't give a frick about the SEC. I'm an LSU fan, nothing else. The next best thing to LSU winning a NC is crushing bama's hopes.

Seriously. I bet y'all wanted the Falcons to win the Super Bowl last year too.

If LSU can't win it, I'd rather an SEC team win it than not, even if it's Bama. After next week, unless LSU is in line for the SECCG, nothing Bama does has any bearing on LSU, so there's no reason to root against them, really.
