No prob.. there are rumors of a jps25 coming out next year. It's supposedly the very last of the stitzel weller barrels

If that's true, for whatever reason they decided not to use those last remaining barrels for the 21. I dont know where the juice in the 21 came from. That pretty much the reason i havent had any of the 21. Im not spending 150 bucks if I dont know what distillery it came from

I scored a 23 today but no 20 yet. It's not always how much you spend at a place but the relationship you form with the guy you buy from. And if you really want to get one you can't just rely on one place.

There's a new bar that's going to open soon that had some nice high end bourbon. I forget the name but I'll find out...

It's gonna be tough for a new bar opening to score pappy. Just as some people get it from relations with their retailers, an outlet for selling must build up their numbers with sazerac co. to get an allocation. Last year was the first year I received any at Mansurs bc our prior buyer didn't think it important enough to try and get. I'm down to just a few drinks of 23 left from last years allocation and know I won't get much again this year, but hopefully a touch more than last year.

I don't know the people opening it...just know someone that knows them. This is what he said.

Will be called Lock and Key on Corporate in the shopping center by Hooter's/Ruby Tuesday etc. Real-deal speakeasy vibe with the finest whiskies available. They should be opening around mid-December.

No wonder none of the rest of us have any. That looks like almost the entire 2013 allocation for SE Louisiana.

It's all good. That was just jealousy. Mostly.

Watch for the price gouging. If you see it, report it to Van Winkles. They want to know.

That was last year. Then they were completely overrun with comments because EVERYONE gouges. Dorignac's sells 20 year for $330 (MSRP: $90) and 23 for $550 (MSRP: $130). So does nearly everyone else in the state now. I think Republic tells retailers what they can get for it.

That sounded like gouging until I got a quote from a storefront/mail order retailer. Try a cool 2 grand for 23!

That's the $500 question. Is it Republic jacking up the price or is it Republic rewarding Dorignacs for loyal business? I bet it's a little of both.

I don't think the distributors (republic) have the option of jacking up the price. the cost is set by the manufacturer and that's what the distributor is supposed to sell it at. the retailers jack up the prices
